Minding my own business has always kept me alive. Tonight, I decided to do otherwise and save this girl, but did I really save her? Now she's about to be murdered because of my actions.

After Axel let us in, I went to the basement and took a nap. I woke up to use the toilet and found Axel's dead body lying near it. I hadn't expected them to kill him; I guess I underestimated how far they were willing to go.

"Why would you kill him? He was just one man; you could have scared him instead," I demand, my anger boiling over.

"He tried to kill me. If I let him live, he'd try again tomorrow and probably succeed," Nelson replies coldly. I need to get out of here.

I use the upstairs toilet because the one downstairs is stained with Axel's blood.

As soon as I reach the top, I hear a girl's scream. It's not loud but distinct enough to pierce through the silence.

I decide to use the toilet and mind my own business, but the screaming continues. My interference could ruin everything, but I find myself entering her room anyway.

I turn on the light and find Bob, the leftovers looking bitch, on top of her, undoing his zipper while she's pinned beneath him.

Her eyes meet mine, filled with so much pain, as if she's pleading for either death or rescue-anything but this torment.

"Get off her," I command Bob, but he ignores me. I pull out a gun and put a bullet in his head. He falls instantly, lifeless.

The girl looks at me with a blank expression, devoid of emotion. I leave the room, determined not to be tempted to help her further. I did what I could and am done.

About twenty minutes later, a new commotion erupts. I had anticipated they'd find the dead body, but I hadn't considered the aftermath.

The girl is now on her knees next to the corpse, presumably thrown down there.

"Did you shoot him?" Nelson demands.

She hesitates before answering. "Ye... yes," she says, her voice trembling but defiant.

What's wrong with her? She could have told them it was me. After all, i came with them. Does she think she's protecting me?

"I guess you're not as weak as you look. Where's the gun you used?" Nelson presses, eager to see her response.

"I-I don't know," she stammers. It's a poor excuse.

"You bitch!" Nelson roars, slapping her hard.
My hands tremble. I want to intervene but I know better than to get involved.

"You know, some of us haven't seen a woman in years-like me. The last time I was with a woman was fourteen years ago. You're lucky because we're going to give you a taste of heaven before sending you to it." His gaze is unsettlingly predatory.

When she looks at him in confusion, he adds, "We escaped from prison today amid the chaos." He feeds her fear, reveling in her terror.

We all got out of prison today, and I was meant to never see them again, but here I am, witnessing their atrocities.

She looks at me, her face betraying judgment and regret, possibly questioning her decision to save me. Nelson notices her glance and turns his suspicion on me.

"Dear Roni, tell me you didn't shoot Bob for this girl," he says, standing and staring at me. When I remain silent, he takes it as confirmation.

"If you wanted a turn, you could have just asked. She's not going to get finished. Or don't tell me you felt pity and were trying to save her?" He mocks me.

"I'm not a rapist," I reply, finally speaking up.

"But you are a killer, Roni," Nelson chuckles. He turns back to the girl, still on the ground, and leans in close.

"You think he's a hero because he saved you? Let me tell you a secret," he whispers, "Roni over there was on death row before he escaped. He killed his mommy and daddy. Do you still think he's a good guy?" He revels in her horrified expression.

Fuck him.
