HARRY, RON, AND HERMIONE had successfully transformed into their Slytherin counterparts, thanks to the Polyjuice Potion. However, Hermione found herself keeping her head low, desperately trying to avoid being seen. The thought of Alvona, a first-year student, seeing her doppelgänger strolling the corridors with Crabbe and Goyle would raise so many questions. She could also imagine the confusion among students who knew Ally's place in her house, wondering what on earth was going on.
The trio suddenly froze in their tracks as they came face-to-face with Percy. At that exact moment, Draco Malfoy walked towards them, and for once, Harry was relieved to see him.
"There you are," Draco drawled, casting a suspicious glance at them. "Have you two been stuffing yourselves in the Great Hall all this time? I've been looking for you. I've got something really funny to show you."
Draco's face lit up, a rare moment of genuine happiness as he greeted who he thought were his loyal goons. But his smile quickly faded when he noticed the Weasleys. His eyes first landed on Ally—Hermione in disguise—who was glaring at him with fury. Draco's brow furrowed, and his nose crinkled in confusion. "What were you doing with Weasley?" he asked, eyeing the two boys accusingly.
"We just—" Harry began, but faltered, looking helplessly at Ron, who stammered out a reply that made no sense. "We wanted to beat her to pulp!"
"What?!" Hermione, Percy, Harry, and Draco exclaimed in unison.
Harry shot Ron a withering look, but Ron just shrugged, looking lost. "Well, she's been saying nasty things about you, Draco!" Ron blurted out.
Harry seized the opportunity, smirking slightly. "Yeah, she said you're the foulest git in the world!"
Percy, outraged, quickly pulled Hermione away from the boys, positioning her behind him protectively. "That won't do. I'm going to report this to the head of your house," Percy said sternly, his posture stiff and his expression intense.
Draco sneered at Percy but motioned for Harry and Ron to follow him. Hermione, meanwhile, tried to break away, but Percy was determined to give her a lecture on how she shouldn't be lurking around, spreading rumors about Draco. Hermione forced a painful smile throughout the ordeal, her mind solely focused on the hope that Harry and Ron would make it out of the Slytherin common room alive and with the information they needed.
