THE WEASLEY'S SUMMER IN EGYPT was filled with sun-drenched days and ancient wonders, a far cry from the familiar chill of their English homeland. The sands stretched endlessly beneath a scorching sun, the heat a constant embrace that seeped into every bit of their skin.
"Come on, Gin, Ally, help me with this!" Fred said, mustering over Percy, whose posture had become stiffer over the summer's start. He started dating his fellow prefect, the Ravenclaw Penelope Clearwater. Ginny had divulged this sensitive information at the end of the term to her siblings, which the older pair of twins always used to their advantage to see Percy have a go.
The family had ventured to a lesser-known pyramid on the outskirts of Cairo, renowned for its labyrinthine passages. Finding the perfect moment—when Percy decided to explore the pyramid's inner sanctum—Fred and George made their move. Like shadows slipping through the cracks, they exited the pyramid while Ginny and Ally, arms linked in silent agreement, hesitated. Ultimately, Ginny prevailed, and they sealed the entrance behind them, leaving Percy inside.
The sound of the pyramid's entrance closing with a 'thud' echoed, and one could almost imagine the darkness swallowing Percy whole. After a few minutes, Fred and George reopened the entrance after their mum's involvement with wide grins on their faces. Percy appeared, tousled and dusty, a mixture of annoyance and relief across his face.
"Very funny," Percy remarked, his lips twitching into a smile as he brushed the dust from his robes. "You've got to hand it to you, that was quite elaborate."
Fred and George burst into laughter, clapping Percy on the back. "Just a bit of fun, Perce. You needed to lighten up a bit!"
Their father had won the Galleon draw at the Ministry that summer, and the family had decided to indulge in a month-long vacation in Egypt, where their eldest son, Bill, was working as a curse breaker. Ginny and Ally spent their days wandering around, savoring the heat that kissed their skin like an intimate touch. Ginny often found herself sunburned, while Ally's skin deepened into a warm tan.
Since the events of their first year had cast a shadow, the twins had become even more open with each other, sharing secrets and sorrows. Even Ginny's feelings of jealousy toward her Slytherin friends were finally laid open.
