To make up for lost time, Sylus promises to stay home for the next week. During the first week of his vacation, you spend most of your time indoor, acquainting both you and Sylus with Theia's presence and routine, as well as tidying around the house — especially sorting out the gifts and putting the unnecessary items in the garage in the meantime. There's just one thing that keeps bothering you.
"No," Sylus responds while gently rocking the crib to put Theia to sleep.
"Why not?" you crossed both arms over your chest as you arched an eyebrow.
"She will be safer here," Sylus glances down at the drowsy baby, glancing around with a gleam of curiosity reflected in her eyes.
"The nursery is just next to our bedroom," you retort indignantly.
With a heavy sigh, Sylus leaves the crib to rock on its own and walks over to you. "How about this: We'll make her a nursery once she's 3 months old."
"We can save the hassle and make it now?" you persist, even though you know Sylus's words is non-negotiable.
"Oh, don't worry about that. I'll have someone to redecorate the whole room," he raises his hand to stroke your hair. "What matters most is for you to rest. How about we go out today? You can choose where to go."
You fall silent for a moment, contemplating his words. Initially, you had thought that Sylus would want Theia to have her own room as soon as she was born, but you guessed wrong. And you trust Sylus's doubts — maybe he wants to bond with the little girl during the early stages of her life.
"And, Theia?" you glance towards the crib, its rocking slow and nearly coming to a stop.
"We'll let Mona look after her untill we're back," through his nonchalant expression, his eyes are visibly soften as he stares at your face.
Apart of you is telling to bring Theia, maybe alongside Mona too, but the other part just wants to enjoy some time off, and more quality time with Sylus for once. After much debate, you simply nod your head in agreement.
So, you notify Mona beforehand and continue to prepare to head out with Sylus. You make sure to bring a spare under garment and plenty pads, in case your blood flow becomes heavier in the middle of your outing. Aside from that, your postnatal recovery has been going well for nearly 2 weeks now.
Reflecting yourself on the mirror, you smooth the front of the gray culotte pants paired with a maroon cropped blouse. It doesn't look too flashy, but appropriate enough for an outing.
Strong arms wrap themselves around your waist as a mist of red dissipates into the air, revealing none other than Sylus standing behind you. "You look gorgeous," he raises his hands, putting on a golden necklace around you neck, a teardrop shaped red gem hanging from the chain. "It's a red beryl. It stood out among the other gems; reminded me of you."
Despite all this time, you're still not used to Sylus's habit of gifting you anything during the most random times. It's too late to hide your flustered face from the mirror, as he makes eye contact from the reflection, flashing a charming smile at you.
