The day was finally over. I sank into the cushy armchair in the corner of my dorm room, letting out a sigh of relief. My head was spinning from the constant stream of activity, and my ADHD had me bouncing between exhaustion and restless energy. I’d been on my feet for hours, juggling the excitement of the event with the pressure of trying to make a good impression. But now that it was done, I could finally breathe.

"How are you holding up, Lily?" Emma’s voice brought me out of my thoughts. She was sprawled on her bed, scrolling through her phone, looking a bit more relaxed than I felt.

"I’m just glad it’s over," I said, rubbing my temples. "It was a lot to take in. Those guys were really something. Especially Damien Kang. He seemed so… distant."

Emma snorted, clearly unimpressed. "He’s probably just one of those ‘too cool for school’ types. I’d bet he’s just as ordinary as the rest of us, once you get past the icy exterior."

"I guess," I said, though I couldn’t shake the feeling that there was more to him than met the eye. Maybe it was just that his demeanor had been so striking, so different from what I expected.

Emma pushed herself up, crossing the room to sit beside me. "Anyway, let’s focus on something more fun. How about we do our usual get-together? It’s been ages since we had a proper girls’ night."

I smiled at the idea. "That sounds perfect. I could use some downtime after all the chaos."

Emma grinned and pulled out a selection of snacks from her bag. "Great! Let’s get everything set up in my room. We can watch movies, gossip, and just relax."

We headed over to Emma’s room, where she had already set up a cozy movie-watching corner with blankets and pillows. As soon as we were settled, the stress of the day seemed to dissipate, replaced by the familiar comfort of our friendship.

We started with some classic chick flicks, the kind that made us laugh and cry in equal measure. Emma and I picked apart the plotlines, made fun of the characters, and reminisced about old times. It was exactly what I needed—a reminder of the simple joys of friendship.

By the time the movies were over, we had moved on to our favorite board games. Laughter filled the room as we played, a welcome distraction from the whirlwind of the day. Emma had a knack for being the perfect host, and tonight was no exception.

As the evening wore on, Emma stretched out on her bed and yawned. "Alright, I’m calling it a night. Thanks for making today less stressful."

I nodded, feeling the same sense of gratitude. "Yeah, this was exactly what I needed."

Emma turned off the lights and gave us both a tired but genuine smile. "Sweet dreams."

We exchanged goodnights and I climbed into bed, pulling the covers up to my chin. The events of the day were still fresh in my mind, but I felt a sense of calm now that I was surrounded by friends. Despite the chaos and the uncertainties, I knew I had people who had my back. And that made all the difference.

As I drifted off to sleep, I couldn’t shake the lingering thoughts of Damien Kang and his seemingly cold demeanor. But for tonight, I pushed those thoughts aside, focusing instead on the warmth of friendship and the promise of a fresh start tomorrow.

The next morning dawned bright and clear, a welcome contrast to the whirlwind of yesterday. I woke up feeling surprisingly refreshed, given how much had happened. Emma was already up, humming softly to herself as she prepared for the day.

"Morning, Lily!" she chirped as I shuffled into the kitchen. "How'd you sleep?"

"Pretty well," I replied, grabbing a bowl of cereal. "Thanks for last night. It was just what I needed."

Emma waved off my gratitude with a smile. "No problem! It was fun. Ready to tackle today?"

I nodded, feeling a bit more settled as I prepared for the day. We made our way to campus, the usual hustle and bustle of college life enveloping us as we walked. Students chatted excitedly about their classes, upcoming exams, and weekend plans. It felt good to blend back into the rhythm of normal college life.

By the time we reached our first class of the day, the lecture hall was already buzzing with conversation. We settled into our seats, and Professor Thompson eventually walked in, holding a stack of papers.

"Good morning, everyone," he said with his usual enthusiastic tone. "I hope you all had a chance to relax after yesterday’s excitement. Today, we’ll be going over the next steps for registration and the various internship processes."

I perked up at the mention of internships. The opportunity to gain real-world experience was something I was eagerly looking forward to. Mr. Thompson’s announcement was a reminder that, while yesterday had been an extraordinary day, life continued on with its own set of routines and challenges.

"Now," Mr. Thompson continued, "I know many of you are interested in the internships that were discussed yesterday. We have several positions available through various companies, including the tech firm that visited us. If you’re interested in applying, make sure you follow the registration process carefully."

He proceeded to outline the steps for registration, detailing the paperwork we’d need to fill out, the deadlines we had to meet, and the interviews we’d need to schedule. It was a lot to take in, but I took diligent notes, determined to stay on top of everything.

Emma nudged me with a grin. "Looks like we’ve got some work ahead of us. Excited for the application process?"

"Definitely," I said, my mind already racing with possibilities. "I’ve been looking forward to these internships for a while now."

As we wrapped up the class, Tyler sauntered in, looking as nonchalant as ever. He dropped into a seat next to us, still holding his phone in one hand. His casual demeanor was a stark contrast to the rest of us, who were buzzing with the prospect of the upcoming application process.

"Hey, Tyler," Emma greeted him. "We were just talking about the internship registration. Have you given it much thought?"

"Yeah, a bit," he replied, his gaze still fixed on his phone. "I’ll get around to it. No rush, right?"

Emma raised an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed with his laid-back attitude. "You know the deadlines are coming up soon. It might be good to get a head start."

Tyler shrugged. "I’ve got time. I’ll figure it out."

Emma and I exchanged a knowing look. Tyler had always been a bit of a procrastinator, but he usually pulled things together at the last minute. I admired his confidence, but I wasn’t sure if I could manage that approach myself.

"Well, if you need any help or want to go over the details together, just let me know," I offered. "I’m planning to dive into it this weekend."

"Thanks," Tyler said absently, still absorbed in whatever was on his screen.

With that, we headed to our next class, and the day continued in its usual rhythm. Emma and I tackled the registration details over lunch, and I felt a growing sense of excitement as I thought about the possibilities ahead.

By the end of the day, I was ready to unwind. As Emma and I made our way back to the dorm, I felt a comforting sense of normalcy. The events of yesterday were already starting to feel like a distant memory, replaced by the routine of college life and the anticipation of what the future held.

And so, with a feeling of contentment and anticipation for the days to come, I looked forward to embracing the opportunities ahead and enjoying the simple pleasures of everyday life.
