movie star - lizzy mcalpine
“i feel like a movie star, but it's getting old, being famous to someone.”

the writers who have nothing to say

have no friends to call out the silence

in which they often choose to remain

if, with no words told, their lifeline ends

who will just move on with their day,

who's there to pick up paper scraps?

will anyone watch if my pen breaks?

the answer is no, but i do know, that,

with you and i, it's always different

we don't get included in the happy ends

you don't move on, instead pretend

introduce the devil like she's a friend

explains why you're used to cruelty

i thought it was different for you and me

well, what a shame you asked questions

that i would never have an answer to

and what a shame that after everything

i don't have another chance for you

i keep shutting down my voice

alll just so that you can fill the void

and you've always loved to flip a coin

between what's to love, what's to avoid

between hating all of our polaroids

and love-bombing, but faking the joy

i wish you could just get to the point

and tell me that all i do is disappoint

your side switching makes me paranoid

your side switching makes me paranoid
