Chapter 17 || My promise coming through
;the truth is always the hardest part of being your true self
Holding Lucy Reynolds in my arms is my happy place. Where I'm most at peace.
With her silky auburn curls sprayed across my arm that's under her head, I can't look away from her sleeping face, smiling at how her little nose twitches when I blow across her cheek.
I should really wake her up properly, we both have to be at the rink in less than an hour, but she looks so... angelic. So damn pure considering the hell she's been through.
The sunsets glows the boat a cosy orange colour just daring me to miss the game, to stay hidden here, curled up in each other until we're ready to go back out into the world. And another another minute in being a greedy bastard, relishing in that thought, I finally cave and try to wake my beauty up.
"Snowflake," I whisper against her cheek, my lips brushing against the warm skin. "Time to wake up."
Lucy's body wiggles against mine, her pert little ass rubbing and luring out the monster down there.
"Don't tempt me, woman, we have places to be." I growl in her ear, low and full of warning. "We'll finish this tonight."
Turning on her back, my girl smiles up at me, brilliant and beautiful. "Can we just stay here forever?" She asks, grinning as her hand runs over the side of my face, trailing her nails down my neck. "We can have sex some more, make some food, watch the stars."
I flip onto my back, taking Lucy with me, dragging her on top, groaning out the torture of knowing we can't do all those things she listed. "Baby, please, I was struggling to wake you up as it was."
When I look up at her, she pouting down at me, blue eyes wide and doe-like. "My big scary hockey playing boyfriend didn't wanna wake me? Aww. How cute." She teases, pinching my cheek.
I still, gazing up at her, a stupid grin on my lips hurting my cheeks.
It takes her a moment but when she realises I've gone into a happy shock, she frowns down at me. "What?"
"Snowflake, did you just call me your boyfriend?"
Her pretty faces pales. Those pink cheeks, white. Her eyes, crystal clear.
I leap up to my feet, Lucy bouncing under my weight, then I jump again, over the fucking mood.
"Holy fuck you did!" I exclaim, boating and happy as shit. "You called me your boyfriend! Ahhh! I'm your boyfriend."
Lucy rolls over the bed, trying to escape, not a chance. Diving onto the floor, I snatch my girlfriend by the waist and chuck her over my shoulder, spinning us around the tiny bedroom.
