the triplets stayed over at my house last night. we finished the movies around 3 in the morning, and matt didn't want to drive home, so i let them sleep in the guest room. around 1 pm, i woke up and went downstairs to cook some food since i knew they would stay asleep for a while.
i ended up making chocolate chip pancakes and hot, homemade apple cider. i also turned on some calm fall vibe music, even though it might have woken them up.
just then, nick turned the corner, rubbing his eyes. 'i smelled food, so i got up,' he said.
'well, your senses were right because i made some chocolate chip pancakes for you guys. there's also some of my family's hot apple cider if you want some.'
nick grinned. 'do i ever! your apple cider is ridiculously good.'
i laughed and poured him some cider. matt and chris came out too, so i got them some as well.
'dang, y/n,' chris said while eating. 'this is really good.'
matt nodded his head in agreement after taking a mouthful.
i smiled. 'thank you!'
i walked back to my room, grabbed some shower items and clothing, and headed to the bathroom for a quick shower. after getting ready for the day, i blow-dried my hair and put it into two loose braids with some strands in the front. i did some makeup too, but not too much—just the lashes—and then put on an orange crop top and gray sweatpants.
when i walked back into my kitchen, chris and matt were playing chess, and nick was watching 'gilmore girls.' i loved that show, but the house was a mess, so i cleaned it up while watching and laughing with nick along the way. i made a mental note to go to target and get more fall items for the kitchen; it wasn't as festive as my other rooms.
'y/n, you're a cleaning freak,' nick said, sipping some more cider.
'yes, but not as bad as some people. i just like it to be clean,' i said, throwing away some cleaning towels. i looked up at nick. 'besides, i have to make some room for more decorations.'
'another target run?' matt said. he put a chess piece down and looked back up, pointing his finger in the air. 'i call shotgun.'
'only if you choose good music—no rap. i hate that shit.'
matt pretended to be offended, then went on with his game.
once we were all done with what we were doing, we piled into the car and drove to target. on the way, matt played some music that wasn't rap, and i didn't mind it as much as i sometimes do.
we got to target about 20 minutes later. i grabbed a shopping cart and made my way to the house items area. i found some cute candles that smelled like a perfect mixture of cinnamon and pumpkin, and it wasn't too strong either. i also got some fake leaf garlands with apples and berries on them, along with a leaf tablecloth for my dining table. matt picked out some pillows with ghosts on them, with an off-white background, and some wine glasses since he accidentally broke the other ones a while back. nick was down in the snack aisle, probably getting some edible cookie dough like i asked him to.
we all gathered back together at the checkout and then got back into the car. i took matt and nick back home since they had some meetings with their youtube person. chris stayed with me; he wanted to help decorate and everything.
we talked on the way home, stopping at dunkin' donuts for some dragonfruit refresher drinks.
today has been a really good day so far.
