vlad had to tell jasper the truth

After the dance, Vlad kissed Jasper softly, feeling a rush of emotions he had never experienced before. As they pulled away, Vlad took a deep breath, knowing he had to reveal his secret. "Jasper, there's something I have to tell you," he began, his voice filled with a mixture of apprehension and determination. "I'm not 16. I'm actually 80,000 years old."

Jasper laughed, thinking it was a joke. "You're funny, Vlad!" he said, still chuckling. But when he saw the serious expression on Vlad's face, his laughter faded. "Oh, you're not joking," he realized, his eyes widening in shock.

Vlad nodded and, without saying a word, revealed his vampire teeth. The sight of the sharp fangs made Jasper's heart race, and he instinctively jumped up onto the high school wall, his body tense with fear and confusion.

"You're okay," Vlad reassured him quickly, holding his hands up in a gesture of peace. "I know this is a lot to take in, but I promise you, I would never hurt you."

Jasper's mind was racing. He had always thought vampires were just myths, stories told to scare children. But here was Vlad, the boy he had grown so close to, standing before him with undeniable proof. He took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing thoughts.

"Why didn't you tell me sooner?" Jasper asked, his voice trembling slightly.

"I was afraid," Vlad admitted. "Afraid that you would see me as a monster and not the person you've come to know. But I couldn't keep this secret from you any longer. You mean too much to me."

Jasper looked into Vlad's eyes and saw the sincerity there. Slowly, he climbed down from the wall and approached Vlad, still cautious but willing to listen. "This is a lot to process," he said, his voice steadier now. "But I believe you. And I trust you."

Vlad felt a wave of relief wash over him. He reached out and took Jasper's hand, grateful that his honesty hadn't driven him away. "Thank you," he said softly. "For giving me a chance, despite everything."

As they stood there, hand in hand, the bond between them grew even stronger. They knew there would be challenges ahead, but together, they were ready to face whatever the future held.
