"Lie him down in the van. He will be okay he just needs to rest." Fig said.

I watched as my best friend's head wobbled based on how he was turned or when he was being laid down his head went straight back. when we laid him down on the bench in the front of the van, Macie sat with him and shut the door behind us. We circled up right outside the door and the air felt much thinner and purified since good ol' Eli kicked the bucket.

"Okay, the Edge Rift is not to be taken lightly. Between the eight of us, we have to split up. Well technically the nine of us but I'm guessing Macie is staying here with Seth, eh?" Fig laughed a little. "We'll split into two teams with Lezlie and myself being captains. Lezzy's team will stay here. I'll go through the rift, Mark will come with me as Chase will stay back."

It was not an easy call to make but I understood why. Chase stayed with his brother while Mark would go. The only other two with powers it made sense. Split them two, and the only other leaders apart I get it. Now it was just Emily, Ever, Ari, and I to split up.

"Emily, where would you like to go?" Lezlie asked walking up to her and putting her hand on her shoulder.

"I'll go through the rift." She said walking up to Mark.

"Ever?" Fig pointed at her with his whole hand, but his palm pointed up.

"I'm going to stay. Make sure we're all okay here." She smiled walking up to Chase.

"Ari?" Fig asked as I could see that Ari tensed up.

"I'll go through the rift." I looked at Fig as just about everyone jumped in shock.

"Got it, so myself, Mark, Emily, and Ethan will go through the Rift, while you blokes stay here and make sure you don't die, eh?" Fig added.

We began exchanging goodbyes or 'ta-tahs' as I imagined Fig would say it. I wasn't all that excited about this but if I had tried sending Ari I'm not sure the guy would come back the same. I had more hope in myself. At least I was trying to. Right before we all lined up to get into the rift, I wrapped the rope on the shuriken I was given a while back around my wrist and hand tightly. If I got lost in here I wanted to be able to defend myself. Even if it was in the slightest way possible.

We got close to the rift and it felt like reality was breaking around me. The world was becoming a purple shattered sky but if I walked back even a step it went back to normal. I went to put my hand in the portal and Fig smacked my hand.

"Mate listen, you go in there we may not even see each other on the other side. The Edge Rift can separate us very easily. Without any hesitation. Once we go in we see our own dimension. It won't be the same for any of us. We will see who we see and what we see. With no control over it whatsoever. Be careful, please." Fig let go of me and turned to walk in. "Let's find a way to kill our killer, yeah?"

He went through the portal and what sounded like "WHOOSH" and then he got what seemed like swallowed, if I had to use a word, by this portal and he was gone. Emily and Mark looked at each other, and kissed. "ew." I audibly said as they hopped in next. I turned and looked at Ever as she giggled at me. I shrugged and hopped in.

Going through this portal felt like sticking your head out of a car going a hundred miles down the freeway. My eyes struggled to stay open as the wind blasted them and I just knew my hair looked phenomenal. In about ten seconds I flew out and smacked right into a floating piece of land. I looked around and the sky was dark blue with purple streaks through it. I began getting to my feet as I saw a cabin on an island that was three islands from me that I had to jump to. In between the islands was just the void. The blue and purple sky surrounded the entire area not just the endless void.
