The late hours cast a shadowy atmosphere in the after-hours bar, with Monet occupying a secluded table in its dimly lit corners. The ambiance was hushed, the space nearly vacant save for a few patrons nursing their drinks at a distance. Her focus was singular, eyes fixed on the entrance, awaiting the arrival of Drew, the person responsible for tormenting and blackmailing Zoya. The air grew tense, her phone clutched in a firm grip, fingers tapping an impatient rhythm on the table.
Finally, as the door creaked open, a silhouette emerged into the dimly lit establishment. It was Drew, searching for Zoya, unaware of Monet's presence. Keeping her head down, Monet ensured she remained unseen as Drew, thinking he was the first to arrive for the meeting with Zoya, sat at the bar and ordered a drink. The stage was set for a confrontation that would end Zoya's torment.
When he placed his order, and the drink arrived, Monet approached him with a determined stride. Her voice, low and intense, cut through the subdued atmosphere of the bar. "Remember me, asshole?" Monet sat beside Drew at the bar, swiftly claiming his drink before he could grab it.
Drew, clearly caught off guard, stammered, "Monet?"
"Are you sure? You tend to get confused about who is the real Monet," Monet said sarcastically. The dim lights in the bar cast shadows on the tense scene unfolding.
Drew, nervous, finally asked, "Where is Zoya?"
Monet leaned in, her gaze unwavering. "You're going to hand over whatever evidence you have against Zoya, and you will never bother her again. Do you understand?"
In an attempt to feign innocence, Drew replied, "I don't know what you're talking about."
Monet's eyes narrowed, her voice cutting through the air like a knife. "Enough with the bullshit. I saw the messages and know what you're trying to do. If you don't want things to get ugly, give me everything you have related to Zoya right now."
Drew, attempting to appear tough, stood up defiantly. "You don't scare me, de Haan. You and your family ruined my future over a stupid video. Why should I lose everything because of one night?" He growled.
Unfazed by his attempt to intimidate her, Monet calmly sipped her drink. She tilted her head, causing Drew to turn around, only to find Monet's brother, Theo, similarly enraged beside him. The atmosphere in the bar grew tense as the confrontation took an unexpected turn.
"Sit your ass down," Theo commanded, prompting Drew to quickly retake his seat on the bar stool. Theo leaned in with an intense gaze. "You better do what she says, or my friend Darius over here is going to have a talk with you." A hulking figure, the size of an NFL linebacker, approached and stood behind Drew, intensifying his fear. The situation became even more daunting for Drew as he realized the gravity of the confrontation.
Sensing the gravity of the situation, Drew reluctantly handed over a USB drive containing the incriminating material. Monet took it with a stern expression, her warning clear.
