The early morning sun hung low in the sky, casting long, golden rays through the dense canopy of trees. The forest was still; an oppressive silence clung to the air, broken only by the occasional snap of a twig beneath Harry's boots. His thoughts swirled, still lingering on the revelations from the scroll they had uncovered. The tale of the legendary mage and his war against the gods weighed heavily on him. It was a reminder of the forces at play—ancient and overwhelming, far beyond what he could fully comprehend.

Victoria Aosa walked a few steps ahead, her dark cloak billowing slightly in the breeze. Her presence was as imposing as ever, though Harry had started to see past her formidable exterior. There was something more—something deeper. She was more than just the Demon Queen; she was a ruler, a protector, and perhaps even a reluctant ally in this fight against the gods.

They moved in silence for a time, the events of the previous night still fresh in their minds. The encounter with the mysterious figure in the woods had left them with more questions than answers. But the scroll—its cryptic language and illustrations—had offered them their first real clue. The Fallen God was more than a legend; he was real, and finding him was their only hope of breaking Harry's seal before the gods destroyed them all.

Seraphina, who had taken up the rear, finally spoke, breaking the silence. "We need to stop soon. The path ahead is unclear, and we can't afford to stumble into any more of the gods' traps."

Victoria turned slightly, her gaze narrowing as she surveyed the trees around them. "You're right," she agreed, her voice measured but tinged with tension. "The gods are relentless. They'll be expecting us to push forward, but we need to outthink them."

Harry couldn't help but feel a sense of urgency gnawing at him. Time was not on their side. The gods were likely already aware of their progress, and the forces working against them would only intensify. His seal, though temporarily weakened, still threatened to crush him beneath its weight. Every day that passed without finding the Fallen God was another day closer to losing control—and perhaps losing himself in the process.

"We don't have the luxury of time," Harry said, his voice quieter than he intended. "I can feel it... this power inside me. It's growing stronger, but it's unstable. If we don't find the Fallen God soon, I'm afraid of what might happen."

Victoria glanced at him, her dark eyes holding his for a moment longer than necessary. "You won't lose yourself," she said firmly. "I won't let that happen."

There was something in her voice, something almost protective, that caught Harry off guard. He wasn't sure what to make of it. He had always known Victoria as the cold and calculated Demon Queen, but this... this was different. There was an edge of vulnerability behind her words, though she hid it well. Harry wondered just how much of herself she had sacrificed to take on the gods in this relentless battle.

They pressed forward, the forest thinning as the trees gave way to a rocky, uneven landscape. The air here was cooler, a light mist hovering just above the ground. In the distance, Harry could hear the faint sound of water—a stream or river, perhaps. The thought was oddly calming, a brief respite from the tension that had been building since they set out.

As they crested a small rise, Harry spotted it—a wide, slow-moving river cutting through the landscape like a silver ribbon. The banks were lined with smooth, weathered stones, and the water shimmered under the early morning light. It was beautiful, in its own way, but there was something off about the scene. Something unsettling that Harry couldn't quite put into words.

Victoria motioned for them to stop, her hand raised in a silent command. "We'll rest here for a moment," she said, her eyes scanning the area warily. "But be on guard. We're close to something... I can feel it."
