Nicole Madigan's POV
I stepped gingerly on the metal platform. The strange voice said it wouldn't collapse, but I didn't trust it. After all, he- no, she, no whoever it is!- had already killed Aspen, Cera, and Cienna. Aspen's death was her own fault, though. After all, she just ran ahead, not thinking of all the traps that could lay ahead. She was acting strange before, though. Amanda whispered to me that she thought she was already insane. (Annie Cresta anyone?) The platform held, and the rest followed me. The moment we all were on it, fire ignited beneath the floor. "Run!" Joseph shouted as we sprinted for our lives. A scream erupted through the crackling of the flames, and I turned to see Natalya ablaze. She collapsed and shouted, "Go!" We complied, and escaped, only to see Aidan writhing in pain on the ground, also on fire. They stopped twitching, their corpses a charred mess. "N-natalya and Aidan are g-gone! We're all g-going to die here! We'll n-never see our f-families again!" The speaker, young Ryan Peterson, was obviously worked up, and his bloodshot eyes were very intimidating. "Ryan, please calm down, you're scaring me..." A small girl was looking at him pleadingly. "S-sorry Ch-charlotte..." He looked at the floor, embarrassment and guilt creeping onto his face. "That's better." She kissed his cheek, and he perked up, blushing. "Th-thanks Ch-charlotte..." A young boy tapped on my shoulder. "She's his girlfriend. They are perfect together." I nodded and the voice once again spoke. "Next room!"
