I wasn't expecting to find you again, love,
I had almost given up on you.
I don't know how you do it,
Or how it is that you always know when to appear so conveniently,
But I am grateful for you, love. You came like a soft whisper in the night—
Actually, you came in the form of a hiccup,
A sudden, unexpected jolt in the quiet of my solitude,
Breaking through the monotony of my brokenness.
You mended the pieces that had shattered in the fall,
A serendipitous miracle that caught me off guard,
You wrapped me in warmth, gentle and bright,
Healing wounds I thought would never heal at all.I had almost given up on you, love, but
With every smile, you banish the sorrow,
Turning my fears into hope for tomorrow.
I wasn't looking, I wasn't aware,
But there you were, love, in the open air.So I embrace you now, with all that I am,
Thankful for this second chance to understand,
That love can return when least expected,
And bring with it a heart resurrected.
