"Are you interested in this? Well, you're welcome to visit my bedroom after dawn, kitten. If you dare." He says and my face feels like it's on fire.

"Kitten?" I ask, trying to ignore his implication.

"You act more like a cat than a bird," He says brushing his nose against mine.

"Always running away from me, just when I think I have you." He whispers and I hold my breath.

Ding.

The elevator rings indicating the Heroine has just arrived on our floor. I shift back into my crow form fully and Sylus looks disappointed. I close my eyes. What the hell is going on? Am I crazy here or does Sylus have a thing for me?

Sylus hands the Heroine a tablet and a USB.

"By the way, those guys who tried to capture me back at Elysium... were they actually traitors who used to work in Onychinus? They also mentioned a "Mr. Sherman." Who's that?" The Heroine asks.

"Why are you interested in a dead person?" Sylus shares a glance with me before responding. He casually discards fragments of my damaged wing, causing me to wince, while the Heroine appears to ponder something.

"...They must also be after the Aether Core in my body. In a way, your conflict involves me." She asserts firmly. I can't help but think she's half right, yet not entirely accurate.

"No, you left me behind on purpose as bait, didn't you? So you could clean up?" She says hesitantly before turning at him. Sylus and I exchange glances.

"You're the one who offered yourself as bait first!" I argue back but all that's heard is a caw.

"It doesn't matter how deep your hatred is. You've cursed me enough. Get over it. Besides, it was an accident. I didn't mean to injure you. Also, you were stalking me earlier. Even if I did it on purpose, you deserve it." she shoots back crossing her arms glaring at me, her words stinging deeper than I anticipated. Feeling a surge of betrayal, I realize these misunderstandings stem from her ignorance of my true dedication to her, my true identity. However, it's not like she would remember me even if I was in my human form and she doesn't comprehend most of what I say in crow form anyway.

But was she always like this... such a... bitch? The fact that I'm hearing her say that I deserve being injured just because I made the split decision to follow her which also ended up saving her life but it's not like I was even ordered to follow her, this time, at least.

"You can scold me directly, if you want." Sylus says interjecting between me and the Heroine. Under the hazy light Sylus gives me a gentle look knowing how what she said hurt me. There's an awkward silence in the air before the Heroine clears her throat shifting the topic elsewhere.

"When we first met, you said we were 'the same.' You... probably have an Aether Core inside you, too." She says and I look back at him. How much did he reveal to her?

"Mine is in my heart. Yours... Is it in your eye?" she inquires, not quite right, and Sylus pauses before looking down at me. I shake my head subtly, signaling now isn't the right time to tell her.
