Just as Zhang Yifei was enjoying a blissful morning nap, his d*mn phone rang again.
Zhang Yifei felt a wave of frustration. To him, the phone was like a ticking time bomb, one that could explode at any moment, just like now.
As Zhang Yifei was enjoying a peaceful morning sleep, that damned phone of his rang again. For Zhang Yifei, the phone was like a ticking time bomb, one that could go off at any moment, just like now.
Still groggy, Zhang Yifei answered the phone, clearly irritated, "Whoever you are, you'd better have a good reason for waking me up, or you're in for a beating."
Interrupting someone's sleep is an extremely inconsiderate thing to do, especially when that person is single. Nights can be lonely, and when you finally manage to fall asleep during the day, being woken up is the last thing you want.
On the other end of the line, there was a long silence before a voice replied, "You little punk, you've got some nerve saying you're going to beat me up."
The moment Zhang Yifei heard that voice, he snapped out of his drowsiness immediately. He knew that voice all too well—it was the voice of the old director of the orphanage.
No way would Zhang Yifei ever dare to beat up the old director; that person was like a living ancestor to him.
"Ah, no, Director, you've misunderstood! I was just joking around with you. You know, it's good to laugh in the morning—it adds years to your life..." Zhang Yifei began babbling on.
"That's enough, stop with the nonsense. You're not a kid anymore, so I think it's time to find you a wife," the old director cut him off.
Zhang Yifei was so excited when he heard this that he nearly fell out of bed. A wife—such a sacred word. Finally, it was his turn.
"Director, you're like a father to me, no, you're even better than my own father..."
"I'm not your father," the old director growled angrily.
If he really had a son like Zhang Yifei, he might have been driven to an early grave by now.
"You are my father, better than my own father, even! You're even worried about my marriage. Who else would care like that if not for my real father?"
The old director was speechless. He was just trying to do something nice for Zhang Yifei by finding him a wife, but now he had somehow ended up being labeled as his father. How was this fair?
"Cut the crap and get over to the orphanage. I'm taking you to meet her." The old director was starting to feel overwhelmed. If he talked to Zhang Yifei any longer, he wasn't sure he wouldn't lose his temper.
"Hold on, Director, is she pretty? What's her figure like...?" Zhang Yifei started asking all sorts of questions.
"Get over here now!" The old director was fed up. Zhang Yifei sounded like a lecher.
And how was he supposed to know the girl's measurements anyway?
After hanging up, Zhang Yifei muttered to himself, "Stingy old man, won't even give me a hint. Guess I'll just have to see for myself later!"
At this moment, Zhang Yifei wasn't concerned about who the old director was introducing him to, what she looked like, or what she did for a living. He just wanted to get himself out there as quickly as possible—being single was too painful.
Within moments, Zhang Yifei had washed up and was ready to go.
Staring at himself in the mirror, he said, "It's about time this virgin body of mine was given up, huh?"
