m/n - mother's name
y/n - your name
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━Many Gods and Goddesses were awaiting in a large pavilion in the house of Poseidon. They would wonder why they were gathered in such a place at such a random time. But, truth be told, it wasn't as random as one would think.
"Oh, it is such a blessing to celebrate Poseidon's birthday, isn't it, my dear?"
Y/n, the daughter of M/n, could only smile brightly at her mother, "of course, mother! Though, I don't know if my gift to him would live up to everyone else's."
Y/n has never met the most fearsome God who could control the seas at will. And she didn't know if she should he thankful for that or not. Heck, she doesn't even know what he looks like. Though, she supposes she could blame her mother for a part of that since she is so overprotective over her. Always telling her that the other Gods and Goddesses didn't deserve to look upon her daughter with such lustful eyes.
Too bad y/n didn't know what the word lustful meant, and that was also m/n's fault. For the motherly Goddess sought to shield her daughter from all the wickedness of the world. Anything to do with provocative language or teachings were strictly cast away from y/n's mind so that she could remain pure and innocent.
In other words, one could say that y/n has been living under a rock as the old saying goes.
"Nonsense, my dear," her mother cooed lightly, her arms wrapping around her child in a protective manner to prevent any of other Gods to ruin their mother-daughter moment, "your gift is from your heart, and that is all that matters."
"But I never met him before .. what if he strikes me down because it isn't sincere enough?"
M/n looked down to her daughter who held a gift in her hands.
It was a rose sculpted out of ice. But it wasn't just some pretty rose. It was a rose imbued with a small charm. A charm that granted happiness and a relief of all stress.
Truth be told, this was the first time m/n ever let her daughter leave her grand household. It was also the first time that she was "meeting" the other Gods. Granted, y/n was too shy to actually go up and talk to any of them, and m/n was too protective that she didn't want y/n to leave her side. I mean, it wasn't uncommon for a God to fall into an intense infatuation with another and easily wisk them away. M/n didn't not want that for her daughter.
In fact, the Goddess was unsure of the reason why she even brought her daughter to this place. Every other time, she would leave her daughter at home with all sorts of pretty little trinkets to amuse herself with.
And now that she is really thinking about it, her mind was becoming foggy as to the reason she brought her daughter here ...
No matter though, they were here. And everyone was finally able to see her daughter.
"Listen, my dear, even though you have never met him and he is renowned as the most feared God, you have nothing to worry-"
"M/n! It certainly has been awhile, might I ask who the lovely lady you brought with you is?"
The lowly Goddess who had the gall to come up and speak to the two was quickly waved off in a dismissive manner, "she's my daughter. And we were in a middle of a conversation. Please leave us be."
M/n may have said please, but the no name Goddess was quick to take the hint, "oh, ah, apologies. I'll leave you both be. Forgive me," she muttered dejectedly. Her form bowing to the two as she was quick to scamper off. Y/n watching the Goddess go before looking to her mother.
"Mother, why did you-?"
"As overprotective as ever I see. This is the first time everyone is getting to see your daughter. Surely you can let a few of them talk to her?"
