"P-please, please excuse me!"

She pushed both Gods away from her, her feet stumbling towards the door as she fell onto it. Her hands grabbing at the handles as she harshly pushed it open.

Erased memories. Erased memories. Erased memories.

What they were saying must have been a cruel joke.

It must be.

Once I get back to the party and see my mom, everything will be fine.

And Hades will come back and laugh off the joke while Poseidon would give some sort of annoyed look.

Right? Right?!

The doors opened for her immediately. The pavilion being filled with the same party goers from before.

Where's mom?

Her eyes searched frantically. Her breathing turning erratic.

Panic. She could feel it seeping in.

There!

Walking towards the beautiful Goddess, she had gathered the courage to gently place her hand on her mother's shoulder. Her eyes filled with a childlike hope.

"Mom-"

"Huh? Oh, where are my manners? Hello, deary, are you knew here? Or are you looking for someone?"

That childlike hope was quick to shatter. Her face contorting into an expression of shock and sadness.

"M-"

"Apologies, M/n. My dear wife here has always wanted to meet you."

"Wife? Ehh, Hades, I didn't know you were married! When were you going to tell us?!"

Y/n watched as her mother threw a little fit. She was a love Goddess after all (she was kind of like Aphrodite, but she belonged to a different myth of the human world). So to find out that Hades, the God that everyone relied on, had found love without her knowing about it was quite angering to her.

Hades gave a small chuckle while waving his hand in a dismissive manner, "please m/n, save your anger. I promise to share our little love story with you one day, but for now let's enjoy my dear brother's birthday, yes?"

Huffing, m/n turned to y/n. Y/n's hand falling from her shoulder in the process, but before it fell completely m/n had caught it with both of hers.

"My dear, I can't wait for you and Hades to tell me all about your love story, so please come by to my palace whenever you both are free, alright?"

Y/n's lips started to quiver. She could feel her eyes start to water just as Hades placed a reassuring arm around her shoulders. His fingers digging into her arm.

"We would be glad to."

M/n, nodding in her small boutique of happiness, had turned back to her other friends. Their conversations carrying on as if Y/n hadn't just interrupted them.

"Come along y/n. It won't be any use no matter who you talk to in here. No one will remember you. In fact, right here .. right now willbe considered the first time that they have ever seen you."

"How .. annoying."

The two had turned towards Poseidon who was walking towards them. Everyone moving a little away from him so that the three could have their private conversation with no eavesdroppers.

"Why does she get to be your wife in public, dear brother," the sea king mocked. His eyes narrowed at Hades as he said this.

"Come now, Poseidon. Don't be angry with me. No one would believe you if you suddenly announced that you had a wife hidden away all this time."

"She isn't yours though. She's ours. That was what we agreed on."

"Indeed, don't worry. I still remember our little agreement."

They continued their chatter as did everyone else. Y/n being able to do nothing but let Hades hold her close to him.

Her eyes remaining downcast to the floor as her teeth would gently bite the inside of her cheek in a nervous manner.

Her mind was a mess and her heart felt broken at the same time.

How could such a thing happen in such a short amount of time? All she wanted to do was give Poseidon a gift.. how could such a thing turn into something like this?

Her eyes finally lifted as her head turned. Her gaze lingering on her mother.

I don't want to be forgotten by my mother.

I want to go home.

Her wishes went unanswered as the night waned on. Each guest taking their sweet time throughout the night before bidding Poseidon farewell, one by one by one.

"Hehehe, I'll see you three around, alrighty? I heard that there was this other event going on later, and I just can't miss it!"

Y/n, Hades, Poseidon, and Zeus were the only ones left within the daunting sea palace. Y/n being able to do nothing when her mother had left an hour earlier.

"Of course, Zeus. Be sure not to get into too much trouble alright?"

"What do you take me for? I won't get into that much trouble!"

With a final huff he gave each of them a grand wave goodbye. His laughter almost being contagious as y/n had the urge to call out to him for some sort of help. But Hades had moved a finger to her mouth, shushing her.

"We won't be having any of that, y/n."

Now, only those three were left within the palace.

And both Poseidon and Hades wouldn't have it any other way.
