Changes

Chapter 8

Tony sat next to Spencer on the Jet. Their case was down in Florida, two little girls were killed and another was in critical condition in the ICU. Both girls were killed the same way but the first victim had more trauma to her head then the other victim

"Any news on the girl in the ICU?" Hotch asked looking at the TV where Garcia was on "Still nothing. The parents have been alerted but they haven't answered any of the police calls"

"None?" Tony asked with a raised brow. Garcia shook her head sadly making him sigh "What do we know about her home life? Any of their home lives?" He asked instead. JJ hummed looking down at her file "Kennedy, the first victim was in the custody of her grandmother"

"Why?" Derek asked "Her father passed away before she was born and her mother... abandon her when she was 4" Spencer took a quick look at his friend, Tony gave him a small smile letting him know he's okay "Sky, our second victim was in foster care. Both her parents were arrested for abuse and drug use"

"And our last victim Elizabeth is in the custody of her aunt. Looks like her mother died when she was 5, a hit and run. Father never named" JJ finished listing off the victims.

"So we know all three victims have trouble at home. Either by their parents or their aunt most likely" Rossi stated. Tony looked at the photos of the little girls, their bodies were laid gently on the ground, their arms crossed over their chest, eyes closed. They look like their sleeping

"Our unsub is most likely a woman" He stated. Emily nodded in agreement with Tony "He's right. The girls are positioned to look like they are sleeping. Their changed and hair is brushed, these are all signs of a woman" The rest nodded in agreement

Hotch turned to the screen "Garcia keep us posted on Elizabeth and find what you can on her aunt"

"Yes Sir" She saluted her boss playfully making Tony smile, she reminded him so much of Abby. If the two ever met they could probably take over the cyber world "When we get there Morgan and Prentiss, go to the latest crime scene. DiNozzo and Reid head to the station and start the geographic profile. JJ and Dave, you two go to the last victim see if she's awake when you get there and talk to the doctors"

The team nodded before they went to their own activities. Tony pulled out his phone and opened the group chat he has with Jenny, Jimmy, Abby and Ducky

"Everything okay?" Spencer asked his friend. Tony nodded, sliding his phone back in his pocket "Everything's fine" He gave a tense smile. Ducky talked to Gibbs, he doesn't know how to feel about that but he couldn't focus on it right now

Right now, he had a case to focus on

Abby sighed, setting her phone down on the table. She doesn't know what Ducky and Gibbs talked about but she hopes with everything she has, something changes. She isn't stupid, she sees the looks Gibbs give Tony when the older man believes no one else is watching

She knows he likes Tony. Just like Tony likes him, but they can't be anything until Gibbs admits to himself that he needs help and to express what he's feeling. Tony is an overthinker, he will overthink everything that isn't his job

And as much as Abby would love for two of her favorite people to end up together she doesn't want Tony in a relationship where he is going to over think everything because Gibbs can't explain what he's thinking or feeling

She could only hope that Ducky talk has opened Gibbs eyes

Tony and Spencer entered the station behind Hotch "Agent Hotchner?" A guy walked up to the three. Hotch nodded, holding out his hand "That's me. This is SSA DiNozzo and Dr. Spencer Reid" Tony shook hands with the guy before he could extend it to Spencer knowing how his friend was

"I thought you had more people" The guy commented as he started leading the three men to a room he set up "The rest of the team is out" Hotch told the cop as they entered the room.

Tony and Spencer immediately got to work, grabbing the photos and maps that were laid out on the table, Tony started putting the photos up, from the first victim to the last, writing out the injuries under each photo

Spencer started marking where the girls were taken and where they were found. He also marked the areas where they were most likely held, since no girl was killed in the place they were found

"Tony can I get-" Spencer started before Tony held out a red and blue marker "Thanks" Spencer grabbed them. Tony hummed not looking at his friend as he continue to write down more information

"Spence can I-" Spencer held out the tape "Thanks" Tony muttered grabbing it from Spencer and moved to the side as Spencer grabbed the map, holding it up to the board allowing Tony to tape the map up

Hotch looked at the two agents, his lips twitching when he saw the relaxed look on Spencer's face. He has seen Spencer work with every other person on their team but he's never seen the young man so relaxed that he dropped his mask

Looks like Tony is actually good for the man. He doesn't know if Spencer and Tony relationship would go beyond being childhood friends but he hopes not. Yes he wants Spencer to be happy, but he hopes sometime in the future Spencer could be happy with him
