A white marble manor stood proudly against the setting winter sun. The trees were naked and hardly any bird could be seen in sight. The setting sun reflected off the arched windows and cast an ethereal glow around the house. The inside of the manor was held up with tall ceilings and white pillars.
Inside the foyer hung a giant portrait of a family. The features of all four individuals seemed to be blessed by Aphrodite herself. On the rimmings of the gold frame surrounding the portrait was an intricate carving which read.
The Most Ancient and Sacred House of Slytherin
Lord Andrew Salazar, Lady Sapphire Millicent, Heir Leonardo Calix, Heiress Valentina Chrysalis
The silent yet comforting silence hanging in the air of the manor was broken by the sound of heels clicking against the marble floor. A blonde woman with bright blue eyes and a siren-like appearance made her way towards the parlour of the manor. Before opening it, she gave a slight pause to look at the portrait and smiled at how after such a long time her family was back to being a family. She gave her head a slight shake and opened the mahogany doors to see her husband, Andrew Salazar Slytherin pacing around the room.
Though his expression was blank, his green eyes were evidently filled with worry. He turned his head towards the blonde woman.
'Are you alright Drew?'
The woman's voice was merrier than any tune the man had ever heard in his life. He let his hand weave through his hair.
His usually kept together appearance disarray.
'Tom, he killed Hepzibah Smith.'
The man told his wife who looked at him with wide accusing eyes. The boy was the only reason that their estranged daughter still held any connection with them.
'Are you crazy Andrew?' The woman practically screamed at the man she called her husband. They both knew how their youngest would react if she ever heard her father throw such an accusation towards the boy she loved.
Andrew strode forwards and cupped the blonde woman's cheeks in his hands. Staring into his intense green eyes Sapphire knew he was telling the truth and the blonde woman felt her heart break not just for herself but for her daughter.
The poor girl had gone through so much in her life, though most of it was because of her parents. Looking into her husband's eyes she wondered how had things gone so wrong with her family that she had to rely on an outsider for a ghost of a relationship with her own daughter. The said outsider now turned out to be a killer who had a grip tighter on her daughter than she could ever imagine.
'What do you want me to do?'
'Call Val to the manor alone and without telling her anything that could make Tom suspicious.' The man stated whilst moving towards the couch and picking up his suit jacket which had been thrown carelessly over the beige couch.
