Day one

Hello, so I wanted to wirte something new. I was heavily inspired by 'Outbreak' from Autsfavgirl. So big shout out to her! Please check out her story.

So this going to be dark.

TW: Death, gore, violent.

And nobody is safe. So buckle up.

The sun was setting over the Nursery.
The working day was coming to an end. Everyone slowly began to pack up their things.

Eric and Jodie tidied up the last things from the garden after sweeping up the leaves.

Agatha wrote her last email.

Carly and Winter were getting the Toddlerroom ready and across the corridor Charlotte and Sorscha were tidying up the Babyroom.

Reece was just entering the Nursery to collect Marjorie.

The two managers were in the office, clearing the last of the documents from their desks.

Sorscha and Charlotte were in the staff room getting their things out of their lockers.

"Charlie, what are you doing at the weekend?" asked Sorscha.

"Oh, Mia's coming to pick me up and we're going out for dinner together. And what are you up to?"

"Clodagh and I wanted to visit my parents in Dublin with Quinn," said Sorscha, picking up her mobile phone and her expression immediately became worried.

"Is everything all right?" asked Charlotte.

"Clodagh rang me ten times. Hang on, I'll call her back quickly."

Sorscha pressed the call-back button and waited, but only the voicemail answered.

"Something's wrong... I've got to go Charlie." Sorscha quickly left the room and made her way out of the building.

She shouted 'have a nice weekend' to Marjorie and Autumn in the office, by now Reece was with them too.

Just as the irish arrived at the exit, Mia came in.

Mia held the door open for her and Sorscha disappeared.

Reece and Marjorie chatted while Autumn scrolled inconsequentially on her mobile phone.

She was on Twitter, checking what was happening in the world.

When something caught her eye.

A post from someone in the local area. He posted a picture from his window. There were numerous rescue workers in the street.

Above the picture was written. 'Does anyone know what happened?'

Autumn looked in the comments and saw many replies from users also reporting police action in their neighbourhood.

As if on cue, a police car with flashing blue lights drove past outside the Nursery.

Autumn raised her eyebrow.

Carly came into the room. " Hey Reece, can you give me and Eric a lift too?"

" Of course. Where's Eric?"

Marjorie intervened. "Oh, he's still in the garden with Jodie."

Charlotte and Mia were now on their way home too. The two of them said goodbyes and left.

As the couple walked across the car park, sirens sounded in the distance. A helicopter flew above them.

Charlotte looked up and asked.
" Strange... Has something happened?"
