Carly searched through the shop in a panic to find something useful. She actually found a full water bottle and towels. She quickly ran back to Autumn and Marjorie.

Who had taken a seat at the back of the till. Marjorie cried out in pain.

Autumn was white as a sheet, she didn't know what to do. When Carly grabbed her arm.

" I'll do it. Viv had discussed a situation like this with me," the girl said firmly.

"Winter! Come on!" shouted Reece.

Winter took a running start and tried to grab Reece's hand, but couldn't manage it.

Mia leant over the balcony, she had a better view of the alley from up here. But she saw nothing that could help Winter.

Winter tried again and almost made it. But he landed on the ground again.

The gate collapsed and the dead poured into the alley. Winter drew his gun and started shooting at them.

Reece also pulled the gun from his shoulder and wanted to fire the first shot. But Mia grabbed the gun and shook her head.

Reece looked at her in disbelief, then pushed past her and fired the first shot.

There were too many to shoot them all. Winter was out of ammunition and he was pressed up against the wall of the alley.

Reece had also fired his last shot. "Mia, help me!"

But Mia didn't move. She turned away, she didn't want to see it. Winter's painful scream went of.

Then silence, only the murmur of the dead could be heard.

Autumn had to get away from the whole situation. She paced nervously up and down the shop. Marjorie's screams filled the room and the pounding of the undead.

"Reece..." Mia carefully put her hand on his shoulder. "We have to keep going..."

The man gripped the railing of the balcony tightly. "Why didn't you shoot?" he asked in a dangerous tone.

"Because it wouldn't have made a difference...let's go and climb up the ladder. We have to get to the others..."

Carly's forehead was covered in sweat. It had all been easier in theory. Now that she was faced with a real birth, she felt sick to her stomach. But she had to do everything she could to help Marjorie and the baby.

Mia stood on the roof and looked down. The car alarm was still on and the street was filled with biters. They probably had no choice but to wait until the car battery gave way.

The house their were on was right next to another one. Jumping to the other roof would be no problem. That would bring them closer to the drugstore.

Another loud scream echoed through the store, immediately followed by the cry of a baby. Carly handed Marjorie the child, which she had already wrapped in a towel, then the girl dropped backwards onto the floor.

Autumn finally dared to come back behind the till.

Marjorie breathed a sigh of relief, she was tired but she had made it. The little boy in her arms had Reece's blond hair.

Carly sat up again. "What are you going to name the little one?"

" Max..."

Reece and Mia had made it over two more rooftops. There was a ladder on the house they were now on which would take them back down. Now it was time to wait.

Night felt. The alarm had stopped a few hours ago. The streets were empty again. The grille of the drugstore opened, Autumn stepped out and looked around in both directions.

"Aut!"

She turned around and saw Reece on the roof.

"Get out of the city! We'll catch up!" shouted Reece, pointing north. "There's a bridge, we'll meet you there!". Mia looked down the ladder. "That's a long way down."

Carly supported Marjorie while Autumn walked ahead. Eventually they arrived at the bridge. Carly helped Marjorie to sit down. While Autumn kept an eye out for the others.

Two figures approached out of the darkness.

"Where's Winter?" asked Autumn.

" Aut... I'm sorry..." said Reece. He wanted to give his attention to Autumn, but he immediately saw Marjorie with his child in her arms.

"Oh my God..." Carly whispered.

Marjorie just looked down. Their have lost someone again.

His sister looked at him in disbelief.
" No.... How! Why!" she screamed.

"It was an accident Autumn." Mia said sadly.

"An accident! My husband is dead because you never think things through properly! Why did you have to mess around with that car!" Autumn screamed.

Reece stood himself between his sister and Mia. "Aut, we've tried everything... really."

"Reece! Show me your gun!" Autumn reached for the gun, the bullet case was empty.

"I tried Aut..." whispered Reece.

"Mia, show me yours! I want to see the gun!" Autumn screamed, pushing past Reece and snatching the gun from Mia's belt. "You didn't even try to save him! That's it! I want her to go!"

"What!" shouted Mia.

"You go or I'll kill you!"

Reece stood between them again. "We need everyone! Right now!"

" No! I'm sick of her! She's always doing reckless things and putting us all in danger! Winter is dead..." her voice broke.

Marjorie wanted to intervene but she didn't have the strength.

"We can't leave Mia behind!"

Autumn looked at him angrily.
"She's leaving!"

"No, she's staying!" Reece raised his voice now.

"Then let's vote!" Autumn shouted. "Carly! What are you saying?"

Carly looked up, startled. "I'm staying out of this!"

" Marjorie! Then the decision is up to you!"
