MADDIE BECK NEVER stopped dreaming. Her sweet little mind was often conjuring up different thought in her head; from being a fairy, to having her own castle, to having bright green hair, to having a real dad.
Thoughts of her dad often took over her mind. Was he kind? Was he intelligent? Was his hair kept smart? Did he wear suits, or T-shirts? Did he curse like her mom did? Did he like to read like her? Was he dreamer too - did he ever dream of her?
She always wondered if he regretted leaving her and her mom, if he ever had the urge to come back for them.
Maddie never met her real father, she had no idea what he truly was like.
But as she was teleported into the year 2019, she came upon a strange family - the Hargreeves. Siblings in their thirties who clearly had a lot of issues.
One in particular made her realise what she had been missing out on with family. Though he acted like she was a pain to him, and always seemed to be scowling, she became to be something good in Diego's life.
The dad she dreamt of turned out to be a cocky vigilante, who thought he could be on his own (he couldn't.)
