While they go through the 2019 photos, the girls are reminded of the Katie Nolan "Soccer Mom" interview, given by Megan Rapinoe, Alex Morgan, and of course Kelley O'Hara, a few months after the World Cup win. The reminiscing continues.
Looking through the photo albums brought back a lot of reminiscing, shared laughter and stories. "Do you remember the Katie Nolan interview?" Kelley asked suddenly. "After the final?"
"What, the one where she picked you, Pinoe, and Morgan up from training?" Tierna asked, and Kelley nodded, laughing.
"She decided we needed a soccer Mom." Kelley snickered. "It was great. Janice was such a brat." Janice was her personal nickname for Alex Morgan.
"Why couldn't she have fit the rest of us in her van?" Tierna pretended to pout, and Emily lightly swatted her shoulder.
"Silly Ti." She said fondly. "Three was probably more than enough."
"Three and a half, by that point." Kelley said jokingly, remembering. Morgan had been pregnant with her daughter, Charlie, by the time of that October interview. Charlie was definitely the results of our victory celebration, she thought. Or at least, of Janice and Servando's.
"Besides, you were more of a brat than Alex was." Christen poked Kelley lightly. "Rubbing orange peels all over her?"
"Kelley Anne!" Tierna and Emily chorused, imitating Katie Nolan's mock-scold.
"It's Kelley Maureen." Kelley said in response, sticking her tongue out and giggling. "But really, how did she not know that?"
"Yeah, the closest middle name to that she had in the van was Pinoe. Megan Anna." Tobin stretched idly. "And here we've got Emily Ann, and Christen Annemarie." She grinned. "But no Kelley Anne. Nope."
"There were four of us on the squad with some variation of Anne for a middle name." Emily said, sucking in her lower lip thoughtfully. "But only Carli spelled it with an E."
"How can you tell Katie meant to spell it with an E?" Christen asked.
"It just sounds different." Kelley shrugged.
Tierna watched the interplay, bewildered.
"Well, that was definitely the weirdest interview I can think of." She told Kelley. "But I'm glad you got to have fun. Maybe we'll get another chance next Summer?"
"Maybe, Ti." Kelley agreed, smiling slightly. "If we're fit and ready by then."
