FJ's Smokehouse, Jamaica
After paying the bill, I went to use the bathroom. My phone started ringing and I took it from my pocket to see my baby mother calling. Hissing my teeth, I answered the call.
"Weh yuh wah, my girl?" I asked, furowing my brows.
"Stephen yuh cyah answer the phone better? A nuh nuth'n mi a beg yuh," She replied.
"Weh yuh want?" I pressed growing annoyed.
"I need to you take Aria to school tomorrow morning. Mi have a job interview and me need fi reach by 8 o'clock," She told me.
Hissing my teeth again, I looked down at the phone. "Yuh nah work aready? Weh yah interview fah?"
"Because it's better hours and mi get more time we mi pitney. A one simple thing me a ask yuh fi do," She said, catching an attitude.
"Bring her over mi yard. Mi soon fwud," I said.
"OK." She hung up and I chuckled to myself.

When I finished, I walked back to where Brielle was still seated texting on her phone. She picked up her bag and pushed the chair under the table before we headed towards the door, hand-in-hand.
As we left the restaurant, I put on a song by Dexta Daps, "Twinkle", and couldn't help but glance over at Brille. She looked beautiful in the dimmed moonlight.
"B, yuh would'a wah fawud over my place likkle bit or mi must drop yuh home?" I asked, trying to sound casual.
"I'll come to your place," she replied, smiling.
I smiled back, feeling a sense of excitement. But little did she know, my life was about to get a whole lot more complicated. Hope she nuh freak out when she realize mi have a youth.
Although mi and mi baby mada nuh inna nuth'n.
As we pulled up to my house, Shenelle's 2020 white Honda Accord parked at the front. I parked next to it and Brielle got out of the car and I followed.
We walked up to the front door and I opened it and welcomed her in, but before I could even take off my jacket, a familiar voice shouted and came running towards me.
"Daddy!" she squealed, throwing her arms around my legs.
I laughed and picked her up, feeling a sense of pride and love. "Hey, baby girl!"
"Who are you?" Aria asked, smiling at Brielle.
I turned to Brielle, who looked surprised. "I'm so sorry, I didn't mention I had a daughter," I said, feeling a bit embarrassed.
"It's okay, I didn't expect it," Brielle replied, smiling. "What's her name?"
"This is Aria," I said, setting my daughter down. "Aria, this is Brielle."
