While I was seated on my father's verandah, I waited for Brielle to show up. Earlier I went down to her house and she said she would come out with me. I have nothing planned and feel like we should just wing it. She told me she would meet him at my father's house so that's what we're working with.
My chain of thoughts was cut short when I heard someone calling my name. I looked up and furrowed my brows to see Crystal from down the road standing in front of the gate with her baby on her hip.
"Javon!" She called again.
A weh she could'a want now? Dem likkle gyal yah love beg eno.
"Yow?" I answered, staying in my spot.
"Come here," She said.
"Crystal, weh yah look?" I asked her. She opened the gate and walked into the yard.
Di lady inna pum pum shorts and sports bra, to pussyclaat. She could'a wear sum'n better come outta road still, God know.
"Yuh can lend me $1,000? Mi wah buy one lasco fi the baby and mi nah get pay until Saturday," She said, keeping her voice low.
"You a gimme back money when me lend yuh? How much $1,000 yuh owe me now?" I raised an eyebrow and she laughed, scratching her head.
"Mi ago give yuh back this time. A true a me alone and mi nuh wah she go sleep hungry because she nuh eat food," She muttered and I sighed, reaching for my wallet.
Feeling the back of my wallet, I took out $5,000 and leaned forward, giving it to her. "Five gran that and yuh nah fi pay me back," I assured her.
She smiled, fixing the baby on her hip. "Thanks," She said, sincerely. I nodded and watched as she walked out of the yard, just as Brielle was coming in.
"Weh yuh want, now?" Brielle asked, the sweetness of her perfume filling my nose.
Chuckling, I stood up and unlocked the grill, stepping out. "Why yuh face make up?" I asked and she hissed her teeth.
"Why yuh call me over here?" She asked, shifting her weight to one leg.
After locking the grill, I stood before her. She stared at the grill behind me, lips pouting and she rolled her eyes again. I wrapped my arm around her shoulder, pulling her into my chest.
Bringing my lips close to her ear, I asked, "Wahm to yuh?"
"Yuh see sum'n do me?" She hissed her teeth, attempting to push me off.
"Jealousy looks cute on you," I said, laughing.
"Mi nuh jealous, Javon. Come nuh and let me guh," She said, tickling my side but I didn't budge.
