A lot has happened since the Hogwarts Summer Excursion came to an end at the end of July-

First and foremost, I managed to get my Curse-Breaker job back thanks to the efforts of my ROCC partner, Ruby Honeysuckle, despite my lack of willpower nearly allowing me to brainwash the whole world with an ancient enchanted well-

While I'm happily in a relationship with Penny, she's recently decided to move out and live in Barnaby's formerly grandmother's house along with Tulip, Alanza, Liz and Andre-

I understand Penny's mainly doing it to relive the good old days of school dormitories and make Barnaby less lonely, but it feels empty in my own flat with my potioneer girlfriend gone- (and I gave all my pets but my cat to my mum)

But at least Jacob's in a relationship with Olivia now...and they share a place together... good for them-

Also, Ruby died- apparently because of a fiendfyre incident at an art gallery-

So, for a little while I investigated the incident despite Flump's insistence that I stay out of the matter, and eventually I connected things to a socialite forger named Eris Foxglove-

Of course, I have a hard time concentrating on the case with the sudden arrival of my possibly not dead dad's amulet and Merula's evil aunt somehow returning and attacking Jacob, only to heal his vision-

Eventually thanks to the help of my new ROCC agent friend Vega, Callum and I manage to find and search the Foxglove meadows for evidence, only to run across a cloaked figure who attacks us-

Once I beat them in a duel, the cloaked figure is revealed to be a very alive Ruby Honeysuckle, who explains how she's been Eris's girlfriend and faked her death to keep Foxglove safe-

Callum and I decide to keep Ruby at my flat while Flump decides what to do with her, and I'm more than willing to do this so I can have a word with my formally dead partner...

As I close the door to my Diagon Alley flat, I turn around to face my green couch, where Ruby Honeysuckle sits anxiously looking at me in anticipation-

While a small part of me is glad Ruby's not dead, I quickly remember the circumstances and utter,
"Do you have any idea what you've done?"

Ruby's green eyes look down in disappointment, "I've made a few bad decisions lately- but-"

"No Ruby! you don't get it!" I shout in agitation, "You faked your death to cover up the criminal acts of your girlfriend! You arranged a graphorn attack which was meant to hurt or even kill me! And using fiendfyre at a charity auction art gallery just to cover up her tracks?!"

Ruby gets up anxiously, "MC I never wanted to seriously hurt you, that's why I took the hit! And Eris isn't with me anymore she left me weeks ago!"

I glare at the American witch, "How do you even know how to use fiendfyre-?"

Ruby looks away from my intense gaze, "Eris taught me a while back... and I've mastered it enough to make sure no one got hurt-"

I shake my head, "I still can't believe it... you were one of my first friends at the ROCC... I introduced you to my friends... I invited you to the Summer Excursion even through you weren't in our graduating class... I met your parents- you got with me and Penny! I went to your funeral- I was going to name one of my children after you!"
