JUNE 1992: Jacob Sune

Jacob sits on a couch across from a tv within the living room of Olivia's flat when the former Hogwarts professor enters says happily,
"Hi Jacob! How was your day?"

Jacob keeps his damaged eyes on the television,
"The same as always Liv..."

Olivia takes off her coat and enters the living room,
"But what about your checkup at St. Mungo's? What did Chiara say? Did MC visit?"

Jacob slowly nods, "My healer says thanks to some ailments, I can see shapes and outlines in black silhouettes- and MC did stop by."

Olivia sits down next to Jacob, "What did you and MC talk about? He seemed awfully stressed out at work today-"

Jacob moves his head over to Olivia, and looks over her darkened silhouette,
"You know Pip- he's always thinking about others- and today he asked for advice about witches- I guess he's interested in getting into a relationship again-"

Olivia takes Jacob's hand, "What did you tell him? Anything about... us?"

"No..." Jacob says flatly, "I just told him to stop worrying about me and focus on his own life- I'm already a burden for you."

"What-?" Olivia says in a small voice, "You're not a burden to me Jacob- you're my boyfriend!"

"Am I?" Jacob says in a tired tone, "Sure, I live with you, but what else is there to it? I can barely go to St Mungo's using the Knight Bus, and all I do is sit here."

Olivia glances over at the television and Jacob continues, "That new enchanted television that can show quidditch matches is so good- except for the fact that I can't tell which team is which!"

Olivia squeezes Jacob's hand, "We are going to find a cure for your blindness, ok? Look at how improved you are!"

Jacob pulls his hand away, "Improved? Chiara says I'll be lucky to be colorblind with glasses- I need to face the fact that I'm stuck like this, and I deserve it."

Olivia shakes her head, "Nothing you've ever done makes you deserve this Jacob-"

Jacob gets up, "Do you really believe that-? The cursed vaults, Duncan, you, my brother, my father- I've hurt so many people- and you're still having to take care of me like my mum!"

Green looks down anxiously, "Have you spoken to your mum-?"

Jacob turns away, "I haven't, but I'm sure MC's written to her all about me and what happened to my dad..."

Olivia begins to walk over to him, "Why don't you put more focus on your future, Jacob? Move on and think about what you want to do with your life!"

Jacob steps farther away, "I ruined any chances of a normal life the moment I decided to find the cursed vaults... no one will hire a blind expelled wizard for anything."

Olivia steps in front of Jacob, "You can still catch up on all the education you need- I can help you in any way you need!"

Jacob sighs and moves past Green, "Thanks, but no thanks- I can't read, and I can barely perform any magic- I'm useless-"

"No Jacob-" Olivia implores fervently, "You can't give up- you have to push on- can't you do this for me?"

Jacob walks into the other room, "I'm sorry that I confessed my feelings towards you Liv... maybe it would've been better if I didn't get out of that cursed portrait..."
