Chan had slowly begun to bring the boys into the kitchen and teach them to cook. It was a slow process, and he could never have all of them in there at the same time, but it was a life skill that he was determined to teach to his kids. They were going to need it as they got older, and he refused to turn his six boys into men that were dependent on their wives for basic necessities. Minho was the best at it, probably because he was older and he had actually listened when Chan was going over the dangers of the stove, oven and sharp things, even if he had pretended not to listen.

Now it was time again for two of the boys to join him in the kitchen. He was sure that Jeongin would be one, which meant that Hyunjin couldn't be. Chan used to be teaching Hyunjin and the maknae together but that did not go too well. As much as the other boys were protective of Jeongin, they could not compete with Hyunjin.

"Who wants to help me in the kitchen today?" He waited. Minho looked over but kind of wrinkled his nose so that was a big no from him. Changbin did not even turn away from his game with Minho. Even Hyunjin didn't look interested.

"I want to!" Jisung raised his hand.

"No! It's my turn" Felix pushed Jisung onto the couch, standing up. Jisung grabbed his shirt and yanked him back. Chan separated them.

"Hey, let's not be like this. You'll both get a chance" He scolded. Jeongin stood up, looking smug.

"Actually, hyungs. It's my turn to be in the kitchen" He taunted, sticking his tongue out at them and walking off to the kitchen. Chan tried not to seem amused, that would cause more problems than he wanted to deal with, and turned back to the other boys.

"Felix, it's your turn. Go join Innie before he makes a mess" Chan decided. Jisung opened his mouth to argue.

"Jisung, you helped last week. It's Felix's turn now, you'll get your chance" Chan promised. The older twin rolled his eyes and sat back down, sulking. Until Hyunjin tackled him into a hug and then the two of them started bickering and Chan had to separate them. He put Minho in charge of watching them and went to go supervise Jeongin and Felix before they burnt the place down. Jeongin had not gotten many cooking lessons and Felix was a disaster when it came to cooking. He was better at baking than cooking.

"Innie, don't do that! We need to wait for dad" Felix moved the maknae's hands away from the stove again.

"But he's taking forever!" Jeongin whined, trying to turn the stove on again. Chan picked him up, moving the youngest away.

"Felix is right, Innie. You need to wait for me to give you instructions on what to do" Chan lectured. Jeongin just rolled his eyes, not seeing the big deal but having enough sense to not argue anymore. He had learned quickly where that got him.

"Go wash your hands first, before we start" Chan walked the boys over to the sink and helped them wash their hands. Then they could start cooking. Chan tried to keep an eye on both of them but Jeongin took most of his attention as the maknae went on to continuously do the opposite of what he was told to do.

"Bang Jeongin" Chan finally had enough when he saw Jeongin turning the stove back on to high after Chan had just turned it down, so they didn't burn the noodles they were making. Felix stopped cutting vegetables, looking over with his mouth open. It was never good when Chan pulled out the full names.

"Uh-" Jeongin turned his head, a little nervous. Chan wrapped an arm around his waist, picking the kid up and turning the stove down again. Then he set the maknae down in front of him and crouched down to his height.

"I told you not to touch the stove didn't I? You could have been hurt, right?" Chan scolded softly. Jeongin nodded, looking at the floor instead of his dad. Chan tilted his head up so they were making eye contact.
