It's been a couple hours and me and Mal are still looking through her spell book. Carlos came in earlier and sat on the floor with me. A little too close but I wasn't going to say anything.

Jay walks in excitedly showing off his jersey. He asks Mal if our plan with Jane works and we look at him like he's dumb. Mal says that she wouldn't be looking through every spell if it worked. Jay has a moment of saying we can do it if we all work together.

We all nod our heads "And we won't go back until we do" I add on.

     "Because we're rotten," Mal says.

The group finishes with "To the core." I look around a bit confused but agree. They've been friends for years and I just joined so of course they have some inside sayings.

As me and Mal go back to reading Evie says she found out that the Fairy Godmother blesses Ben with the wand at coronation and we all get to go. Me and Mal look at each other and then to Evie wondering why the heck she hasn't told us yet.

As Mal was about to say something back we hear a knock on the door and Mal gets up to answer. Of course it's Ben. Ben asks if we have any questions or anything and Mal says no. She looks back at the group to make sure and I nod to her trying to signal to ask about coronation.

Ben starts to walk away but Mal stops him. He walks back to us excited to help. Mal quickly asks if we get to go to the coronation and Ben confirms.

"Wow how exciting." I say as I walk up closer to Mal who nods.

Mal asks if we could stand closer to the Fairy Godmother to "soak up the goodness." Ben says the only people allowed are his family and his girlfriend. Mal repeats that his girlfriend gets to be up there and I immediately understand what she's thinking. Mal quickly closes the door.

"Time for Ben to get a new girlfriend." Mal says confidently as I nod.

"And who better to be that than you." I say to Mal and smile. Listen, I've seen the looks she's given him.

Carlos throws Mal her spell book so she can look for a love spell. Once Mal finds one we wait for it to be night so we don't get interrupted and we run to the kitchen. They agreed to let me make the cookies since I've been baking for so long.

I follow the recipe to a tee "It says we still need one tear and I don't cry."

Carlos says we should just chop some onions to make us cry. "No. It says one tear of human sadness. There's a difference." I say confidently and I point to the recipe/spell.

"This love potion gets the best reviews so we should follow it exactly." Mal says as I go back to stirring the dough.

Jay says that it shouldn't matter but Evie quickly explains the difference between a reflex tear and one of true sadness. Me and Mal smile at her as she explains.

Lonnie walks in looking for Mal. And to think we thought we wouldn't be interrupted. I quickly throw a towel on the spell book and keep mixing. Lonnie says that all the girls want their hair done.

Lonnie realizes that we are baking and asks what we are making. I tell her it's just cookies but when I look away she dips her finger in the dough and eats it. First of all, where are your manners? Second she might've just spelled herself. We all scream and she looks confused.

She says she's not going to 'double dip' like that's what we care about. We all look at her seeing if she feels different.

"Uh, do you think it's missing anything?" I say  quickly trying to cover us.

Jay steps up to try to flirt with her and see if she's spelled but she doesn't react. She just says it's missing 'chips' whatever that means. She walks to the fridge pulling out a bowl of 'chocolate chips.'

Lonnie puts some in the bowl and asks if we've ever had our mom make us chocolate chip cookies and talk about the world. Really? Does she know what the isle even is?

We all look a bit confused since none of our parents are like that. She realizes how we are looking at her and asks why.

"It's just not like that on the isle" I say to her and go back to focusing on the mixing.

"Yeah I know... I just, you know, I thought.... even villains love their kids." She says in a chipper voice that slowly fades as she realizes it's not true.

Once she realizes she starts to cry and places her hand on mine. When Mal realizes she's crying she quickly wipes the tear and throws it in the bowl.

"Yeah super bummer but uh we should get these in the oven." I say trying to get her to leave.

Mal starts pushing her to the door. Mal divides up the tasks to get the cookies in the oven. They end up turning out great now we just have to wait to use them.
