BOOK 1~A Broken Beginning

Chapter 8

     Hollowkit looked at Snowkit, the now only female she-cat.

     'I'm not in their family... I don't know these cats!' he thought frantically. Songbird stood up and walked to some soft moss and lied down, followed by Blazekit and Bramblekit. Snowkit sighed as she watched her true siblings sleep, and Hollowkit looked at her.

     "Am i your brother now?" Hollowkit asked nervously. Snowkit gave him a look and shook her head.

     "No. All the queens are going to take care of you." She purred. Hollowkit purred back and followed her as she curled up next to her brothers and hollowkit in a small moss bed nearby.

     Thistlestar's yowl broke out, Hollowkit, Snowkit, Blazekit, and Bramblekit snapped awake.

     "Cats old enough to catch their own prey gather around Highrock for a Clan meeting!"

     The four kits dashed outside excitedly.

     "Slow down,you four!" Songbird laughed.

     "Sorry, mom, I'm just so excited!" Snowkit said in excitement. The cats had all sat down and Thistlestar looked at the four kits.

     After the ceremony, Thistlestar announced the final thing, "Hollowpaw, your mentor shall be Rockcall. Snowpaw, your mentor shall be Creekivy. Blazepaw, you mentor shall be Stormtail and Bramblepaw, your mentor shall be Honeyleaf."

     Rockcall, Creekivy, Stormtail, and Honeyleaf leaped up and greeted their new apprentices. Hollowpaw looked at Snowpaw, who was smiling happily. Creekivy was a white she-cat with black highlights in her fur, Honeyleaf was a beautiful golden she-cat with green eyes, Stormtail was a dark grey tom, and Rockcall was light grey.

     "Our first training session will be tomorrow," Rockcall told Hollowpaw.

     "Try to launch off the tree for a good attack," Bone ordered in a whisper Echo nodded snuck up for behind the tree where Crimson, a red tom sat unsuspectingly. Echo crouched and placed her back legs on the tree and launched herself at Crimson, landing roughly on his neck. The tom hissed and rolled over quickly almost squishing the small shecat. Echo hissed and flattened herself to the tom as she darted up to his neck and place her paw and touched his soft neck skin with her cold nose. A deep chuckle from behind sounded as Bone padded out from the tree with a smirk on his face. Crimson also let out a mrrow of laughter and shook the shecat off.

     "Your getting good," Crimson sighed, lapping his fur.

     "Those clan cats would have just started training. Your already an amazing fighter and getting better at hunting," Bone meowed proudly.

'Hollowkit is a apprentice.' She remembered with a tinge of sadness. She purred at her leader and followed him in thought as he lead her off.
