An Omega

Soon it was time for the mv release and the promotion period started. Both the idols and their managers were practically flying because no one had time to walk or touch the ground. Ha Joon and the other staffs looked at them proudly everytime they won an award from a music show. It was common knowledge that stray kids were one of the most popular groups of this time and their popularity was only further increasing day by day. And it was a good thing for sure but it also meant potential increase in the number of obnoxious fans.

Soon the promotion period ended and it was back to normal daily routine in Jyp.

We can finally breathe!

This was the only thought in our minds and we all knew it from each others faces. We had more time to joke and bicker (and more time for some to make out in the practice room) now.

We were laughing at an edit made by stays when the practice room door opened.
It was Ha Joon hyung and one of our senior managers with him. He clapped his hands and got our attention.

"Everyone, please listen. I know it is sudden, but we are going to have a sudden meeting, with Jinyoung-nim. So,
please follow us. And the rest of today's schedule, be it any, is cancelled."

We were confused and started packing our things. Some of us looked over to Ha Joon hyung but he looked as confused as we were.

"Hyung, you really have no idea what's going on?" We heard Hyunjin ask.

"No. Not a single clue. I was in the lounge when hyung came and told me to get my things because a sudden meeting was arranged. And I quickly followed him. Got no time to ask him what this was." Ha Joon replied.

Soon we were all in front of the meeting room. And upon entering we saw Jyp, our ceo, the chief manager sitting, even Dr.Kim was there and they all wore a serious expression.

Just what was going on...

We all sat around the table and looked at them eagerly.

"Now, I know, that you all are confused. But we couldn't put off this matter any longer. We put off talking about this because it was your promotion period and we didn't want to pressure or burden you. Cutting straight to the chase, as we all know, you have another mate, whose whereabouts are currently  unknown. And it took both of us, you guys and us, great effort to hide the new mark on all your shoulders. But you know this can't go on right?"

We all felt each other tensing up.

"So what is that you guys want us to do? Surely there is something on your mind" Chan said his jaw tightening.

"You guys will have to find out your mate. We don't have much time. You know you guys are really popular right? And it's only getting wilder, your sasaengs, I mean. It's because you guys are an omega-less group. If your new mate happens to be one, then wouldn't it be good for all of us? So we were hoping we could find them. Which we know is not easy, nearly impossible." Jyp said looking grim.

"Wait a minute, you are suggesting we bring a complete stranger and make them a part of our pack?" Leeknow said looking dumbfounded.

"It's not someone hyung, that's our mate!" Jeongin replied looking harshly at LeeKnow.

"Exactly, someone we don't know, someone we haven't met. A stranger. They're suggesting we mate with them Jeongin, to become a pack." Changbin countered.

"But hyung-" Han was cut short by Jyp again.

"We haven't finished the whole topic kids. You know that in this industry it is a perk for getting popularity if you are a group without an omega right? As messed up the notion is, some people thrive on the sole imagination that they may get a chance to be your mate when they hear about an omega-less pack. But as beneficial as that boost is, you know the dangers that come with it. You guys are an Alpha only group. As much as your bond is strong, sometimes the hormones gets the best of you." Jyp said looking at the company CEO for help.
