Rang woke up the next morning, the luxurious sheets of his new life tangled around him. As the memories of the previous day resurfaced, he groaned, running a hand through his—no, Kim Sang-bum's—hair. "Still not a dream," he muttered, staring up at the grand ceiling. He had read plenty of stories like this, but living one? That was a whole different beast.
A knock at the door interrupted his thoughts. "Come in," he called, still trying to wrap his head around his situation.
A servant entered, bowing with the kind of stiff formality that made Rang uncomfortable. "Good morning, Young Master. The Duke requests your presence at breakfast."
Rang's stomach twisted at the thought of facing Lee Dong-wook again. On the top of that, Dong wook had a sister , a mother and a father that despised Sang bum alot, not the father, but the pair of mother and daughter. In the story Dong wook's sister was a great supporter of Ji ah to marry Dong wook, and he was sure he will be getting commented on today.
"Tell the Duke I'll be there soon," Rang replied, smirking. He wasn't about to let anyone walk all over him, not like the Kim Sang-bum of this world apparently did. Sang bum was an introvert while Rang is a psycho who doesn't socialize but loves to play with peoples mind.
When Rang entered the dining room, the first thing he noticed was the stiff atmosphere. Lee Dong-wook sat at the head of the table, his expression neutral, while Lady Ji-young (his mother) and Eun-ha (his sister) and Wo-rong (his father) were already seated, their gazes sharp as they watched him approach.
"Good morning," Rang greeted, a polite smile on his face while smirking in mine as he took his seat. He was waiting for some one to comment , he wanted to see some one all worked up as he bought tears in their eyes.
" Morning," Lee Dong-wook and Wo-rong replied, Dong wook's tone as unreadable as his face. Lady Ji-young merely offered a curt nod, and Eun-ha, unsurprisingly, didn't bother with that much.
As breakfast was served, Rang could feel the tension crackling in the air. He was waiting for it, the inevitable taunt, the jab that would have made the old Kim Sang-bum shrink back.
