"At least take money with you, Pai!!" Sky shouted as he saw Prapai making his way out.
Prapai shook his purse and said, "I have it with me." And quickly went out of the main door.
Sky stood in the middle of the house, with money in his hand, shaking his head, "How stubborn." He said to himself.
He went back to the couch where they were sitting earlier. Prapai stayed here last night too. Sky didn't wanted to bother him for one more night so he was persistent for him to go back home. But suddenly Prapai's arm started to hurt.
Sky cracked a laugh at the fact that Prapai thought that Sky didn't know about his little act. Why wouldn't he, he must accept that Prapai ain't a good actor at all.
Still Sky pulled out an ice pack from the refrigerator to apply on his arm. Covering his bandage with a towel, he gently applied the ice pack to it. Sky knew that the pain was an act but the sight of relief on his face wasn't a part of it.
Sky did it for him once again after a few hours, before they went to sleep. The morning went by without much happening, just them sitting and talking. In a few days Sky had realised how different Prapai actually was from Fort. It amuses Sky how two people, with the same faces, the same build can have such distinct personalities.
Later in the afternoon, they both sat on the couch peacefully after having their lunch and cleaning the kitchen. And one of the things that Sky had known about Pai in these days was that whatever he cooked was delicious.
Sky didn't hesitate to ask Prapai if he ever dreamt of being a chef. But to his surprise, Pai actually didn't. He told him about his dream of being a footballer and how even the thought of cooking professionally never crossed his mind.
Sky was curious to know more but the topic quickly changed as Prapai asked him what he wanted to eat for dinner. It was difficult for Sky to think of an option that was healthy too since Prapai only wanted cooked light food which is good for their recovery.
Prapai finally suggested to make Khao Pad and Sky agreed to it. Sky didn't know why but Prapai refused to make it once he got to know that there weren't any eggs in his home at the moment.
He told that his mother always included eggs in the dish and he also loved to cook it with eggs in them.
So he was quick to rush out to bring some eggs, looking pretty excited for making the dish for Sky.
This brings Sky to his current situation, sitting on the couch alone in his house, waiting for Prapai to come back. It wasn't long before the doorbell rang.
"How can he go to the shop, buy eggs and also come back in so little time." Sky spoke to himself as he moved to the door.
He opened the door and continued to say, "How di-"
Sky's words paused in the middle as he saw who was actually at the door. It wasn't Prapai but a middle-aged woman with brown hair and dark brown eyes, standing at the door with a huge smile. Her height, just an inch smaller than Sky.
Sky stood there shocked as the lady stepped inside and engulfed him in her arms.
"Oh my Skyy, you don't know how worried I was for you these two days."
The words melted Sky and he hugged the lady back. It had been so long since he last felt this comfort of being hugged by her.
They separated after a while and the woman made her way inside the house. Sky closed the door with a smile on his face. As he moved towards the place where the person was standing, he realised something.
"Mae!! I will just bring water for you."
"Oh no need for that my baby."
"Just a second." Sky rushed inside the kitchen. He quickly took out his phone and opened Prapai's contact.
Sky: Hey, my mother just came a sec ago.
Sky: Soo I was saying that you don't really have to come here now. I mean she would be here to take care of me right.
Sky facepalmed himself as he tried to make some sense in his messages. He doesn't really want to kick Prapai out like that but he cannot let him meet his mother either. Especially when he looked exactly like his boyfriend who died years ago.
Sky waited some time for Prapai's reply but there was none. It was possible that he didn't even saw the message yet. It made Sky nervous. He filled a glass of water, kept it in a tray and picked it up. That was the moment when the doorbell rang. Sky panicked, he quickly put the tray down, spilling some water on the shelf. He made his way out and he saw his mother standing at the door, with the door slightly opened.
Sky gulped ready for the chaos but none came. He moved towards her and finally got a better view of outside the door.
"Weird, I thought the bell rang but there is nobody over here." She said looking at the corridor with no one in sight.
She went back but Sky stood there, slightly confused until a 'ping' sound came from his pocket.
He opened his phone screen to find a message left by Prapai.
Prapai: Aye aye captain.
Prapai: I cannot come back but eggs can😉
Prapai: Take care of yourself now.
A smile formed on Sky's face as he noticed the eggs hanged on his door handle. He took them inside, closing the door behind him.
"Oh my, how much I missed that smile of my child. It has been so long Sky."
Her mom said as she observed her child smiling to himself. Sky nodded slightly, it had been indeed a long time.
"You don't even bother to call me often. I was always the one to call you." She sighed while sitting on the couch.
Sky remembered all those times when his mother called him and gloom flashed over his face. Only if his mother actually called to talk to him, to ask him about his day but Sky knew how it went every time they talked.
Sky forced a little smile as he sat next to her while she talked to him.
"Your father couldn't come, he was busy."
'As always' Sky added to her dialogue in his mind. He concentrated on what his mother was saying rather than ruining his mood.
His ears listened to it, but his mind wandered around the tray of eggs that was still in his hand. Who knew Sky would ever smile so stupidly at a random tray of eggs.
He made a mental note to thank Prapai for all that he did for him in past two days. He felt guilty for kicking him out like that after everything he did but he had no other way to walk on.
A random thought crossed his mind, 'what would happen if Prapai meets his mother sometime?'. And the thought made him roll his eyes, while it may be very confusing for the two of them, it will also be very difficult for Sky to explain the situation.
Sky knew he should tell Prapai about Fort, if not the complete story then atleast the part that both of them looked similar since it could land him in a very complex situation if someone from Sky's past saw them together. He was aware of the necessity to do that but probably not now, maybe some other day.
