After his hectic schedule, Ashter was sitting in his office, trying to relax when Crystal entered. Seeing her, he smiled in relief.
She returned his smile, but before she could say anything, Ashter pulled her onto his lap, catching her off guard. He rested his head on her chest, wrapping his arms securely around her waist.
"Are you okay, sir? How was the meeting?" Crystal asked, her voice soft with concern.
"Not good, and it's all your fault," Ashter replied, though there was a teasing tone in his voice.
Crystal immediately tensed. "I'm sorry! I made sure all the files were in order, and I even cross-checked everything with Mr. Ian. He said it was all right," she said, a hint of fear creeping into her voice.
Ashter chuckled, tightening his grip on her waist. "It's just that you were on my mind the whole time. All I did was smile like an idiot and doodle your name on my documents."
Hearing this, Crystal couldn’t help but giggle, which earned her a gentle kiss from him.
As they relaxed together in the CEO's office, the door suddenly burst open. They jumped to their feet in a flash, hearts racing.
"Dad!" Ashter exclaimed.
"Mr. Chairman!" Crystal added, her voice shaky.
They exchanged nervous glances, Crystal looking utterly terrified.
"Thank God I came in... Is she the reason you refused to marry Lily?" Robert Terence, Ashter's father, asked, his tone more disappointed than angry.
Ashter hesitated for a moment before replying, "Dad"
"Why didn’t you tell me you had a girlfriend?" Robert asked, his voice tinged with mild surprise.
"No, it’s not like that, Mr. Chairman," Crystal began, but Ashter interrupted her.
"It is like that, Mr. Chairman. She is my girlfriend," Ashter declared, causing Crystal to look at him in surprise, her cheeks flushing with a shy gaze.
"Good evening, sir. I’m Crystal Alden," she said, trying to steady her nerves.
"Very good evening, Miss Crystal. I’m Robert Terence, Ashter’s father," Robert replied, extending his hand. They shook hands, though Crystal was practically trembling.
"Wait a minute, are you Harway Alden's daughter?" Robert asked, a hint of recognition in his voice.
"Y-yes," Crystal stammered, now surprised herself.
"He was a very old friend of mine," Robert said with a warm smile.
"Oh," Crystal managed, still processing everything.
After this unexpected introduction, they finally had some time alone, but the workday was already coming to an end.
"You know, the first week of work is always memorable, and in my case, it definitely is. I met my old best friend, ruined my boss's meeting, met his dad, found out I’m someone’s girlfriend without even being properly proposed to, and on top of that, I had my first kiss," Crystal said with a smile, her cheeks blushing.
"Are you leaving now? Can’t we just have dinner together, sugar candy?" Ashter asked, his voice playful.
"Of course we can, sir," Crystal replied with a grin, feeling her heart flutter at the thought of spending more time with him.
