2nd round

An's POV:

After what I saw in the first round I was terrified when they told me that I'll compete next. But at least it'll be done sooner than later...
,,An-chan...?" Kohane asked me. ,,Are you feeling alright?"
,,You look a bit pale, you know?" Akito said.
,,Well how would you feel if you'd be the next who's going there huh?!" I shouted at him.
,,Sheesh...sorry..." Akito said.
,,But was it really necessary to kill her like that...?" Touya asked. ,,Couldn't they just...let her go?"
,, aliens, Touya..." Akito said.
,,Yeah...but I'm gonna do it...!" I said. ,,I can win...!"

Kanade's POV:

,,How do you feel, Kanade?" Mizuki asked me worriedly.
,,I'm not that nervous about the competition..." I said. ,,It's just that...it's like a...show right? Are there gonna be lights...?"
,,Well...yeah...they were there before..." Ena said.
,,I don't know if I can do it with lights..." I said. ,,I don't like lights...they're making me weak...and crowded places..."
,,Calm down." Mafuyu said. ,,You'll be fine."
,,You think so...?" I asked her.
,,I know so." Mafuyu said confidently. I smiled at her and hugged her. I saw Mizuki and Ena shocked and then I realised what I've done.
,,I'm sorry..." I said.
,,It's okay." Mafuyu said. ,,Good luck."

An's POV:

The time has come and here I was. Staying at the stage, looking at Kohane and the others, through the window. I wondered if I'll die here in 20 years or if I'll make it to the next round. But I was ready. Then the second person slowly walked on the stage...

Kanade's POV:

As I slowly walked up the stage I was wondering if I'll even be able to be 22 or if I'll stay 21 forever...I started to get a little nervous...but I was determined to win. I looked at the window where the others were watching. I spotted Mafuyu there...
,,Mafuyu..." I said quietly. ,,I'll win...I wanna see...and hug you...once again..." After I walked on the stage I saw the person I was competing against...

An's POV:

It was Kanade Yoisaki, one of Mizuki's friends that also grew up here with us. My eyes widened. I didn't wanted Mizuki to be upset, but she would be either way... we're both her friends...

Kanade's POV:

Shiraishi? An Shiraishi? Am I competing against her? But she's one of Mizuki's friends! That means that Mizuki will be sad about whoever is gonna lose. And I didn't want that...
When we started, we sang one song called Composing the future, which I practiced a lot. I was determined to win. I wanted to win. I wanted to see Mafuyu once more! I wanted to be there with her...stay with her as long as I can...!

An's POV:

We sang Composing the future, which I practiced a lot too. I wanted to win. I didn't want Mizuki to be sad. But she'd be sad because of Kanade as well, no...? My brain couldn't think straight now...I have to sing...more...more...MORE!!!

Kanade's POV:

The song was slowly ending, and I couldn't focus on singing this whole time. My brain was filled with Mafuyu. What if I lose here and I won't see her again? Will she be sad? Or happy? Will she lose on purpose in her turn? I couldn't tell...but I wanted her to be at least a little bit happy...I couldn't let her be more depressed than she already is...! That was the time when I finally started to sing more. I was determined to win...to see her again...to touch her again...to be with her again...
,,Mafuyu..." I said when the song ended. ,,Please..." I looked at the board. An had 65 points and I had...66. Right after that I heard a gunshot. I quickly turned around, and I saw An dead on the floor. My eyes widened. I didn't want it to end like this...I didn't want her to die...
I walked back in the other room and I saw Azusawa Kohane crying and the other two boys trying to comfort her. I felt guilty.
,,Kanade!!!" I heard Mizuki shouting. I quickly turned around and they both hugged me.
,,The way you sang in the beginning...we were so scared...!" Ena said with tears.
,,We're so happy that you're okay..." Said Mizuki. Then I saw Mafuyu behind them. My eyes widened. I quickly rushed to her and hugged her once again. But to my surprise, she smiled and hugged me as well.
,,I'm so happy that you're okay, Kanade..." She said. My eyes filled with tears of joy.
,,Yeah...me too..."
