The days that follow the initial revelation are tense, filled with uncertainty as Gemini and Fourth navigate this new reality. Despite the tentative agreement to move forward slowly, there's an unspoken tension between them—an unresolved conflict that both know must be addressed. Gemini is determined to be a part of Luka's life, but he also knows that Fourth is still holding back, afraid of what Gemini's presence might mean for the stability he's worked so hard to create.

It doesn't take long for the need for a deeper conversation to come to a head. One evening, after a long day, Gemini asks Fourth if they can talk—really talk. They agree to meet at Fourth's apartment after Luka has gone to bed. The small living room feels almost claustrophobic as they sit across from each other, the weight of the conversation pressing down on them.

Gemini, trying to keep his voice calm and steady, starts the conversation. "I appreciate that you're giving me a chance, Fourth. I know this isn't easy for you. But I need to understand... why didn't you tell me about Luka? Why didn't you reach out?"

Fourth, who has been bracing himself for this question, looks down at his hands. His voice is quiet when he finally speaks. "I was scared, Gemini. After the breakup, I didn't know what to do. You made it clear that you weren't ready for a future with me, and I didn't think you'd want a child in the mix. I... I didn't want to burden you."

Gemini's heart tightens at the pain in Fourth's voice, but he can't let it go so easily. "You didn't even give me a chance, Fourth. You made that decision for me. I missed out on years of Luka's life—years I can't get back. How could you do that?"

The hurt in Gemini's voice is unmistakable, and it cuts through the room like a knife. Fourth flinches, his guilt and regret etched into every line of his face. "I know," he says softly. "I know I made the wrong decision. But at the time... I thought it was the only choice I had. I was terrified, Gemini. I didn't know if I could handle being a single parent, and I didn't know if you'd even want to be involved."

Gemini leans forward, his frustration bubbling to the surface. "But I would have been involved, Fourth! I had a right to know. Luka is my son too. You kept him from me. You didn't trust me enough to tell me the truth."

Fourth's eyes flash with a mix of pain and defensiveness. "Trust? Gemini, you weren't exactly in a place where trust was easy. You were focused on your career, on your life. You told your friends you didn't see a future with me. How was I supposed to believe you'd want to be a father when you couldn't even commit to us?"

The words hang heavy in the air, and for a moment, Gemini is stunned into silence. He knows that Fourth has a point. Back then, he was so wrapped up in his own ambitions that he failed to see what was right in front of him. But that doesn't lessen the sting of having been kept in the dark about his own child.

"You're right," Gemini admits, his voice softening. "I wasn't ready back then. I made mistakes too. But that doesn't change the fact that I deserved to know. You should have told me, Fourth. We could have figured it out together."

Fourth looks away, tears welling up in his eyes. "Maybe. But I was so afraid, Gemini. Afraid that you'd reject me, reject Luka. Afraid that you'd try to take him away from me if you did want to be involved. I couldn't bear the thought of losing him—or you, again. So I... I ran. I thought it would be easier that way."

The vulnerability in Fourth's voice cuts through Gemini's anger, replacing it with a deep sense of sorrow. He never imagined that Fourth had carried so much fear and pain alone. The realization that both of them were driven by fear—fear of rejection, fear of failure, fear of loss—brings a new perspective to the situation.

The room falls into a heavy silence as both men struggle to process the weight of their shared past. Finally, Gemini speaks again, his voice trembling with emotion. "I don't want to fight with you, Fourth. I don't want to dwell on the mistakes we made. But I need to know that moving forward, you'll be honest with me. I want to be part of Luka's life, and I want us to work together. But I can't do that if you keep shutting me out."

Fourth looks up, meeting Gemini's gaze with a mixture of fear and determination. "I don't want to shut you out, Gemini. But I need to protect Luka. He's my whole world, and I need to know that you're committed to this—that you're not just going to disappear again when things get tough."

Gemini nods, understanding the gravity of Fourth's words. "I'm not going anywhere, Fourth. I promise you that. I know I have a lot to make up for, and I know this won't be easy. But I'm here. For Luka, and for you, if you'll let me be."

The intensity of the moment brings them both to the brink of tears, but neither lets them fall. There's too much at stake, too much to be resolved, and both of them know that this conversation is only the beginning.

Finally, Fourth nods, though the hesitation in his eyes lingers. "Okay. We'll try. But we need to take this one step at a time. Luka comes first, and we have to do what's best for him."

Gemini agrees, relieved that they've managed to find some common ground, even if it's fragile. "I understand. And I'll do whatever it takes to prove to you that I'm serious about this."

With the heavy conversation behind them, the tension in the room begins to ease, replaced by a tentative sense of hope. It's not a resolution, but it's a start—a step toward healing the wounds of the past and building something new.

As they say their goodbyes for the night, Gemini can't help but feel a mixture of relief and trepidation. The road ahead is uncertain, and he knows that there will be challenges and setbacks. But for the first time in a long time, he feels like they're moving in the right direction—together.

In the days that follow, Gemini and Fourth begin to navigate their new reality. It's awkward at first, filled with moments of uncertainty and careful steps around the emotional landmines of their past. But slowly, they start to find a rhythm, working together to create a sense of normalcy for Luka.

Gemini begins spending more time with Luka, joining Fourth on outings to the park, helping with bedtime routines, and getting to know the little boy who is, without a doubt, his son. Luka, for his part, is curious about this new man in his life, and though he's cautious at first, he quickly warms up to Gemini.

For Fourth, seeing the bond develop between Gemini and Luka is both heartwarming and bittersweet. He's happy that Luka is getting to know his father, but he can't shake the fear that it could all fall apart at any moment. Still, he tries to trust that Gemini's intentions are genuine, even as he keeps a protective eye on their budding relationship.

As the days turn into weeks, Gemini and Fourth continue to navigate the complexities of their new relationship as co-parents. It's not always easy—there are still moments of tension, old wounds that resurface when they least expect it—but there's also progress. They're learning to communicate, to trust each other, and to put Luka's needs above their own fears and insecurities.

And though the future remains uncertain, both of them are committed to making it work. Because now, it's not just about them—it's about Luka, and the family they're slowly, tentatively, beginning to rebuild.
