Erin stands in front of her class with a poster board of her family. (Right now Erin is 9, Nadia is 7, Justin is 8)
"So this is Hank, well his real name is Henry, but everyone calls him Hank. He's a police officer." Erin says pointing to a picture of Hank.
Erin moves her finger to a picture Camille.
"This is Camille, she is Hank's wife. She's very nice." Erin says tapping the picture.
Erin moves her finger to a picture of Justin.
"This is Justin. He is Camille and Hank's son. I'm older then him, but he thinks he's older then me." Erin says as looks at her classmates.
Erin shifts nervously and moves her finger to a picture of Nadia.
"This is Nadia. She lives with me and the Voight family." Erin says.
Erin rubs her hands together and moves to another picture.
"Oh and this is my cool Uncle Al. He's a cop too, he and Hank are partners." Erin says pointing to a picture of Al and Hank together.
A little boy raised his hand.
"Yes, Perry?" The teacher asked.
"Ms. Platt, Erin didn't do the project right." Perry says.
"How so, Perry?" Ms. Platt asked.
"Hank, Camille, Justin, Al, and Nadia, aren't her real family!" He exclaims.
"Perry, you don't have to be related together to be a family. Camille says, that if your willing to help the person threw thick and thin, and stick together no matter what, that's family. Also if you love them." Erin says.
"That not true!" Perry yells.
"You love your kitten right?" Erin ask.
"Yeah I love Mr. Mittens. He's like a baby to me." Perry says.
"See! Mr. Mittens is a kitten, but you love him like he's family! That's how I feel about these people. Hank is like a dad, Camille is like a mom, Justin is like a protective brother, Nadia is like a funny little sister, and Uncle Al is the cool uncle." Erin explains.
"Now be quiet and let Erin finish!" Kelly says.
"Mr. Severide, that was not nice." Ms. Platt says.
"It was funny!" Shay exclaims.
"Be quiet, Shay, before you get in trouble." Gabby says.
"Okay." Kelly and Shay both mumble.
"Oh one more thing before I finish, Hank says I don't need a Dad. He says that I got a Hankey, and that's good enough." Erin says.
Outside of the classroom Nadia, Justin, Al, Camille, and Hank have the biggest smile on there face from hearing Erin.
