I'm a simple autistic nerd who likes to read. I got into fanfiction during Covid when I was going through major anxiety, and a friend told me that reading fanfiction was a good way to deal with stress so I did and I fell in love with it! Most fanfiction I find can be pretty cringe but if your patient and you look hard enough you'll find an unexpected gem that is sometimes better than the original work. And that's what I love about fanfiction finding creative people who put their own spin on someone else's work.
I typically try to avoid fanfics that involves the protagonist being abused or neglected or other sad and depressing things. I read these fanfics to make me happy and forget about my stress And make me smile. I don't mind a little drama, but I'm just here for happy.
