"Riles, do you mind watching Noah while I run some errands." My mom snatched her keys and purse from the mudroom before I had time to answer. She knows I don't mind. I enjoy his company, he makes me feel less alone than I know I feel. Why does she even ask?
"Of course not, how could I say no to the little runt," as soon as he sat on the couch I ruffled up his hair. Hearing his little giggle was contagious, of course, so we eventually broke out into full on laughter and agreeing to watch Henry Hugglemonster.
---
"Noah, what do you want for lunch?" I asked him while he was watching a recorded episode of Doctor Who on the television. "Does grilled cheese sound good?"
"Yes, please, Sissa?" He hopped off the couch and started toward the kitchen. Noah pointed to the counter implying if he could sit there. Of course, I nodded my head and he jumped into my arms, so I could lift him up onto the kitchen counter and grab the ingredients form the fridge.
After we finished our sandwiches the we slipped into our shoes and pulled on our coats, getting ready to go into town.  After climbing in my car and making sure Noah was buckled safely in the back.
It took me a while to get back into a car and start driving again after the accident. I'm still scared about what might happen, but for the sake of my mum I learned how, partially so she wouldn't have to drive me everywhere, even though I knew she would still worry about me much like how I worry about myself.
Finally, I worked up the nerve to pull out of the driveway and onto the road. We passed buildings, stores, and a couple neighborhoods along the way. At the stop light Noah was becoming restless, so I passed my phone back before continuing on.
The first place we went was Walmart. Mom gave me a list and told me to stick to it. I put Noah in the shopping cart and start off on the grocery section near the vegetables. The first thing on the list is grapes, apples, and bananas. Before we get to the bananas I accidentally bumped into something and started to panic.
"Oh my, I am so sorry," I looked up and saw Tyler standing with his shopping cart in front of mine.
Why does this always freaking happen to me? Ugh, he probably thinks I'm stalking him. He was giving that signature smirk, that would be forever etched into my brain.
"Well, if it isn't the good girl," Tyler pulled his cart next to mine and examined my brother,"What is this?" He picked up Noah's arm and dropped it back down causing him to get upset rather quickly.
"Really," I mumbled to myself and pulled his Marvel blanket from the tote bag I carried in. He calmed down right after and looked in the opposite direction of Tyler.
"You really had to do that didn't you?" I questioned looking over at the boy with bleached hair.
"Um...duh. Where are you headed next?"
"Wouldn't you want to know," I walked away in annoyance. I'm really not in the mood for stupidity right now, but he followed us to pick out some bananas. "Don't you have somewhere to be?"
"Nope," he replied while popping the 'p'. "Just shopping around. Do you mind if I borrow this 'thing' to pick up a chick or two?"
"Of course! I'll let you take my little brother to pick up chicks," with sarcasm dripping from every word I picked up my speed and turn right to find the breads to my left.
"Okay I was just joking. Seriously though, I'm failing English and I was wondering if you could be my tutor?" Tyler looked at the whole wheat breads along with me. He wants me to tutor him in English? I don't think that sounds like a bad idea, or so I thought....
