"You just walked outta there? Without having to have the last word?" Isla quizzes me with wide-stricken eyes. "Did not see that coming."

With a small huff, I knock back the flute of champagne I'm holding and continue browsing the tiny stalls set up in the very pretty and flowery decorated hall. "You and me both. I don't know what came over me."

"You still have feelings for him." Capri dryly says as she saunters her way back up to us, phone in hand as she shoves it back in her clutch.

"I do not."

My two friends share a look before bringing it to me, both their perfectly plucked brows raised with amusement and accusation. Paused and waiting. Like a pair of expectant mothers.

When they're intense gazes get too much, I crumble.

I mean, I'm just a girl!

"Okay, fine. So there's a little something still lingering in me somewhere." I admit with defeat, turning back to look down at the make up collections set up in a cutesy fashion. "But I absolutely refuse to give in to him."

"Hmm hm." The girls hum in unison right as Capri's phone starts blaring out loudly echoing off the hall walls.

"Ooo, gotta get this, it's the hot Italian from the club the other night." She gushes, already swiping to answer as she rushes off amazingly in those seven inch platforms.

"It still amazes me how fast she is in those neck breakers." Isla muses, mindlessly following behind me around the set ups. "Besides Capri and her hooker heels and your ex taking over your life, how you feeling about today? You excited?"

Something in me loosens at the thought of collabing with such an amazing brand like Arciti for their new petal perfect make up range. Not only are the products organic, but amazing quality. No animal testing and twenty percent of the proceeds are going to a women's refuge centre for domestic violence victims in Queens.

"So excited, and the end game being money going to women who need it is everything. I can't wait to get stuck into this project, it's going to be a great distraction from the nightmare my life has turned in to."

"It's not that bad." Capri interjects mid conversation for the second time as she saddles up with us, rolling her eyes when she sees me and Isla staring at her expectantly. "Italian is a no go, lives with his mother and is currently going through court proceedings for a DUI."

Along with her, and in true girl fashion, we too roll our eyes.

"Least things aren't that bad, right, Mal?" Capri adds on. "I mean I'd rather have a hot, rich and famous quarterback dry humping me in a gym rather than a half decent chef with a drink-driving problem."
