Peyton insisted on preparing a welcome home party for Morgan and Alli. I found the idea cute and typical Peyton. She decorated the penthouse, made platters of food and insisted we got ice cold champagne for everyone. Morgan called me from the airport to let me know they landed safely, and I asked her to come to the penthouse when they got back.
"Why?" she asked, clearly suspecting something.
"Just do it, Morgan," I hissed at her as I carefully slid out of the balcony door, delicately sliding the door closed behind me.
"Why are you whispering?" she chuckled on the other end, infuriating me slightly.
I groaned at her and checked to see if Peyton was still busy. "Just come to the penthouse. For Peyton's sake."
"Why didn't you just say it was for her sake from the beginning? I'd do anything for her." Morgan sighed and spoke to Alli in the background. "...yeah, I think Peyton has something planned. Yeah... probably," she chuckled at something Alli said. "Have the two of you enjoyed the time alone?" she was back in the conversation with me.
"Mm-hmm," I said, doing my best not to reveal that we'd actually enjoyed it so much, we were going to move in together. "It's been nice. But that doesn't mean we haven't missed you guys though." The Stone charm always steered a conversation away from a potential minefield.
"You're trying to veer me away from something," she said immediately and I cursed myself under my breath for trying to use the Stone charm on the one person I could never successfully use it on. "Have you guys had sex in my bed?!"
"God no! What the fuck, Morgan?" I laughed and grimaced at the idea. "We've not been weird. Just... comfortable."
"Comfortable?" the sound of her voice drew a clear picture of her face in my mind. She was definitely arching an eyebrow and narrowing her eyes. "As in you've been enjoying the peace and quiet being just the two of you, all alone?"
Yeah, she had already guessed it. I could tell from her sarcastic tone and her determination not to let it go.
"Yes, Morgan. We've been cooking dinner, watching TV, going to bed, sleeping, getting up, getting ready and going to work like normal people." I leaned against the railing of the balcony and looked at Peyton through the huge glass doors. She was teaching Niall to fold napkins and obviously getting frustrated with him.
"Harry... You went quiet," Morgan said with no hint of sarcasm or teasing in her voice. "Seriously, have you been truly comfortable?"
I smiled to myself, looking at my beautiful girlfriend wacking Niall over the head and pointing for him to go somewhere else. Louis took his place and she seemed to calm down. "Yes. It's been wonderful. I don't want it to end."
"End?" Morgan's voice went up in pitch, a slight panic rising in her tone.
"Shit, no not end, sorry!" I fumbled for words. "I want to live with her! Permanently, full time. God... Don't tell her I said anything. She doesn't want me to say it. She wants you two to have your time in the spotlight."
