As Sam stepped into the dimly lit room, the air felt thick with dust and forgotten memories. The gurney lay on its side, a relic of the hospital's past, and the walls were adorned with faded photographs of patients and staff, their faces obscured by time. Colby hesitated at the doorway, his instincts screaming at him to turn back. "Sam, maybe we should just leave," Colby urged, his voice trembling slightly. But Sam was already kneeling beside the gurney, inspecting the old metal frame. "Look at this, Colby! It's like something out of a horror movie!" he exclaimed, excitement bubbling in his chest despite the unsettling atmosphere."Yeah, a horror movie where we're the main characters who get trapped and never escape," Colby muttered, trying to suppress the chill that ran down his spine. He scanned the room, noticing the shadows that danced in the corners. "We should stick together, though," he added, stepping inside reluctantly.Suddenly, a low groan echoed from the hallway, causing both of them to freeze. The sound was almost human, filled with a sense of despair and anguish. "What was that?" Sam whispered, his earlier bravado faltering. "I don't know, but I don't like it," Colby replied, his heart racing. They exchanged a glance, and in that moment, they both knew they had to investigate. Slowly, they made their way back into the hallway, their flashlights illuminating the peeling walls and broken tiles. As they walked, the air grew colder, wrapping around them like a shroud. The distant sound of dripping water echoed, and shadows seemed to flicker just out of the reach of their lights. "This place is seriously creepy," Colby said, his voice barely above a whisper. "Do you think anyone else is here?""Maybe it's just the wind," Sam suggested again, though his voice lacked conviction. They continued to move cautiously, their senses heightened, every creak of the floorboards making them jump. They reached a large waiting area, the remnants of old chairs strewn about like forgotten memories. A broken clock hung on the wall, its hands frozen at 3:15. "What do you think happened here?" Colby asked, glancing around. "It feels like this place has been abandoned for years.""Maybe it was a ghost hospital," Sam joked, attempting to lighten the mood. But as soon as he said it, he felt a shiver run down his spine. The atmosphere was too heavy for humor, and the silence was almost deafening. Suddenly, a loud bang resonated from one of the nearby rooms, causing both of them to jump. "Did you hear that?" Colby exclaimed, his eyes wide with fear. "We should really get out of here.""Wait, let's check it out first," Sam insisted, his curiosity piqued. He moved toward the source of the noise, with Colby trailing hesitantly behind him. They approached a door with a cracked window, the glass obscured by grime. "Do you see anything?" Colby asked, peering through the glass. "I can't see a thing.""I can't either," Sam replied, trying to peer inside. "But it sounded like something fell." He pushed the door open slowly, the hinges creaking in protest. Inside, the room was filled with old medical equipment, covered in dust and cobwebs. A large metal cabinet stood against the wall, its doors slightly ajar."What do you think is in there?" Colby asked, glancing nervously at the cabinet. "It looks like it hasn't been opened in ages.""I don't know, but we should check it out," Sam said, his adventurous spirit taking over. He approached the cabinet and pulled the door open with a loud creak. Inside, he found a collection of dusty medical supplies: syringes, bandages, and old bottles of medicine, their labels faded and unreadable."Gross! Look at this stuff," Colby said, wrinkling his nose. "It's like a scene from a horror movie." "Exactly! Just think of the views we could get from this," Sam replied, excitement bubbling up again. He reached for a bottle, but as he did, a loud crash echoed from the hallway, making them both jump back."What was that?" Colby shouted, his heart racing. "I don't know, but it sounded close!" Sam replied, his eyes wide. They exchanged a panicked glance, and without another word, they hurried out of the room, their flashlights flickering nervously as they moved. They stepped back into the hallway, but it was eerily quiet now. "Maybe we should just leave," Colby suggested again, glancing around for any signs of movement. "Just a little longer," Sam insisted, driven by adrenaline. "We can't leave!, it might just be the wind" a sudden draft swept through the hallway, causing the flickering lights to dim momentarily. Colby's flashlight flickered, and he felt a surge of panic. "No way, that's not just the wind," he insisted, glancing nervously at the shadows that seemed to move closer."Let's keep going," Sam said, trying to sound brave despite the uncertainty gnawing at him. They pressed on, following the sound of the groan that had echoed before. The hallway twisted and turned, leading them deeper into the heart of the abandoned hospital. As they rounded a corner, they stumbled upon a door slightly ajar. "Should we check it out?" Sam asked, his curiosity piqued. Colby hesitated, glancing back down the hallway they had just come from. "Maybe we should just go back," he whispered, but Sam had already pushed the door open. It creaked loudly, revealing a small room filled with old medical equipment, dust-covered and forgotten. In the center stood a large mirror, its surface cracked and tarnished. "Look at this!" Sam exclaimed, stepping closer. But as he looked into the mirror, his expression changed. "Colby, come here!" Colby approached cautiously, peering into the mirror. For a moment, he saw not just their reflections but something else—a shadowy figure standing behind them, just out of sight. "What the—" he gasped, turning around, but there was nothing there."Did you see that?" Sam asked, his voice trembling. "Yeah, I did," Colby replied, his heart pounding. "We need to get out of here. Now." They turned to leave, but the door slammed shut with a loud bang, trapping them inside. The air grew even colder, and the groan echoed again, louder this time, as if the building itself was alive. "What do we do?" Sam shouted, panic rising in his voice."Find a way out!" Colby yelled back, desperately searching for another exit. They began to pound on the door, but it wouldn't budge. The shadows seemed to close in around them, and the sense of despair grew heavier.Just then, the mirror began to shimmer, and the shadowy figure emerged, reaching out towards them. "You shouldn't have come here..." it whispered, its voice a chilling echo that sent shivers down their spines.
