“They're putting you in Bayshore High School?! Woo-hoo, if I were you I'd be cheering! They're pretty prestigious!” Her father boomed, opening his 3rd bottle of beer.
“Yeah. Sure dad.”
Her parents never really gave a fuck about the case.
“Hey mom.”
Her mother perked her head up from her deep sleep on the couch, “Oh, hello sweetie. Are you hungry?”
Lottie looked over at the bug infested kitchen, “No mom, thank you though.”Tomorrow will be her first day at Bayshore. She will complete her senior year there.
Lottie sighed at the thought.
Do the kids there know about me already?
Her stomach churned.
Bayshore is particularly a school for rich kids. Really rich kids.
And she was far from rich.
Walking over to the box in her room she opened it to see two uniforms and a letter.Lottie gagged at the elegance of the letter.
“It looks like something a founding father would write.”Examining the outfit, she decided on ironing the one with the skirt to wear tomorrow.
If she didn't have to shit already she did now.
The school was huge and it looked like something out of a Harry Potter book.Walking into the school, Lottie didn't really blend in. Her coils were in a high ponytail and she staggered around with her schedule in her hand.
Until she bumped face first into someone's chest.
“Lottie Wright, correct?” The person said, unmoving.
“Yes, sorry I-”
“It's fine. I'm Sora Jones. I'll be your guide around the school. Follow me please.”
Although she was uncomfortable with the robotic-ness of the girl, she followed her around.
She's wearing the same uniform as me so she must be a student as well.
Sora showed Lottie the cafeteria and canteen, gym, auditorium, garden, and almost all the elective classrooms.
“Can I see your schedule?” Sora asked, taking the paper from Lottie's hands.
“Ah, you have an AP Lit with Mr. Mackus first. Do you know where that is?”
“No.”
“Okay, follow me.”
That seems to be the only thing Lottie's doing. At the classroom door, Sora knocked for her.
“You're pretty.” Sora said generically.
“Oh? Uh thank y-”
“You should sit with me and my friends at lunch.”
“Oh okay but-”
Before Lottie could finish her sentence the girl turned her heels and walked away and Mr. Mackus opened the door.
That girl will never let me finish a full sentence.“Come on in Lottie! Find a seat!”
The only seat open was one beside a kid with his earphones in and he looked like he did not want anyone sitting beside him.
Oh well.
Lottie set her bag down and took the seat beside the boy. While taking notes and following along with the lesson she noticed long white bandages wrapped around the boy's arms.
It took her a while to connect the dots.
Oh.
This guy's a cutter.
She let out a chuckle before the boy turned to look at her, scratching at the bandages.
She quickly turned away and focused back on the lesson. After her finance class it was time for lunch! Then after that, Pre-calc and government econ.. but it's lunch now at least!
The lunch looked like something served at a buffet.
A hand grabbed Lottie's arm, it's just Sora.
“We sit over there by that big window.”
Lottie nodded and gathered her lunch, making her way over to the table. She could feel everyone there staring.
“I'm Lottie…”
Surprisingly the tension in the air ceased after she spoke up.
“I'm Doris.” A brunette girl said, smiling.
“Kason.” The boy by the window murmured.
“I'm.. Hoya Koizumei.”
“Woahhh didn't know we were saying last names too!” Kason throttled.
Lottie's breath hitched while looking at Hoya's arms.
He's the cutter guy!
She couldn't help but chuckle seeing the Rolex watch on top of the bandages.
Having a Rolex on while having sliced up arms is quite a statement.
Lottie wasn't very fond of mentally ill rich people.Shockingly, lunch went very well. They all exchanged instagrams and phone numbers.
Doris, Kason, and Sora all seemed okay to her.
But she couldn't quite get her mind off Hoya for the remainder of the day.
