Author's pov

Just as the king was lost in his happy thoughts, he sensed a presence behind him. He turned around, expecting to see Adharva with his new baby, and his face broke into a warm smile. But his joy was short-lived. His eyes widened in horror as he took in the scene - Adharva was indeed standing there, but with a knife pressed to the infant's neck! The king's heart skipped a beat as his mind struggled to process what he was seeing. The portrait of his children, still clutched in his hands, slipped from his fingers and crashed to the floor as his grip relaxed in shock. His smile faded away, replaced by a look of utter terror and disbelief.

Raghavamitra: [stunned, taking a step back] "Adharva, what are you doing? Why is there a knife at my grandchild's neck?"

Adharva: [smirking, his eyes gleaming with malice] "If you don't agree to my conditions, you'll never see your precious grandchild again."
[he takes a step closer, the knife glinting in the light]

Raghavamitra:  "Why are you doing this, Adharva? Why are you threatening your own child?"

Adharva: [his smile growing wider] "Oh, he's my sweet son, my key to success. He'll open doors for me, and I'll do whatever it takes to achieve my goals."
[he moves the knife closer to the baby's neck, who stirs fitfully in his arms]

Raghavamitra: [frightened, panicked] "What do you want, Adharva? What could you possibly want that's worth harming your own child?"

Adharva:"I want the kingdom divided. One half for me and my family, the other for Ameya's brothers, the queen, and you."

Raghavamitra: [anger rising] "I won't do it! I'll never agree to that!"

Adharva: [the knife glinting menacingly] "Oh, I think you will."
[he presses the knife closer to the baby's neck]

Raghavamitra: [furiously] "Adharva!"

Adharva: [hushing him] "Shh, voice down. You'll wake my little munchkin."
[he gazes lovingly at the baby, who sleeps peacefully, oblivious to the danger]

Ameya, still recovering from childbirth, was helped to her seat by her maids. Vardhan and Indrajit exchanged worried glances, while their wives, Arya and Adithi, chatted nervously. Adithya and Kiara sat with their eyes fixed on the king, sensing something was amiss. Siddhant and Saanvi whispered to each other, their faces Adharva stood silent. The air was thick with tension as they all waited for the king to speak.
