THE HALLS hustle and bustle about, students and teachers alike chat amongst themselves. Stoneybrook Middle was a fairly small school, but when it was class dismissals or lunch, the hallways were always crowded.

Natalie Chu was early for school than usual. She hasn't seen her friends yet. It was the second week of 8th grade. She kept checking her phone, memorizing her schedule.

History — 7:00 A.M. – 8:00 A.M.
General Mathematics — 8:00 A.M. – 9:00 A.M.
English Literature — 9:00 A.M. – 10:00 A.M.
BREAK — 10:00 A.M. – 10:45 A.M.
Music — 10:45 A.M. – 11:45 A.M.
Art — 11:45 A.M. – 12:45 A.M.

She was grinning at the last subjects. English Lit., Music, and Art. She'd be sharing the same classes with her beloved friend, Claudia Kishi. As she waited for her friends to arrive, she went outside school by the benches.

She plugged in her headphones and opened her phone, being greeted by a group picture of the Baby-Sitters Club on her lock screen. Putting on her password, she was met by her home screen. Guess what it is.

Sorry, let me correct that. Guess who?

Yes, correct. It was none other than Claudia Kishi. It was a picture of her with her camera, being giddy as she was taking a picture of something. Tapping on her screen, she went to the Spotify app and played a song. "She Won't Go Away" by Faye Webster.

A few minutes passed, Natalie's eyes were covered by hands. Slightly rough hands. She knew these hands very well, and knew who it was. She'd been holding these for quite a while enough to recognize them.

"Claudia," Natalie muttered. The girl behind her giggled, "Aw, how'd you know it wasn't Stacey?" she whined. "Simple, Stacey doesn't do that. Kristy's too serious, Mary Anne's too shy, and Dawn has better things to do."

The smaller girl huffed, accepting defeat. Nat chuckled, rubbing her thumb on Claudia's hand affectionately, then taking it close to her mouth and kissing the back of it. Claudia grinned at the gesture, her heart beating rapidly as she stared at the girl's gorgeous brown eyes.

"What are you two doing?"

The two girls jumped in surprise and turned their heads to Kristy Thomas, sneering and cringing. Behind her were the other club members who seemed to be used to the two of them.

"I was just waiting for you guys," Natalie answered, keeping her cool attitude. "What took you guys long?" She adjusted herself to face her friends, not letting go of Claudia's hand.

Kristy, taking the bait, started ranting about her family, specifically her older brothers Charlie and Sam, growing frustrated because 'They leave the bathroom door open after using it, and they don't even use the scent spray.'

The others chuckled while Natalie and Claudia continued to do their own thing. Nat had her arm wrapped around the smaller girl's waist, somewhat protectively, maybe even possessively.

Claudia always loved the physical intimacy they had. It just serves as a reminder that they're both comfortable with each other.

While the club chatted as they walked around the school, the two girls were a bit left behind. Holding hands, joking here, flirting there...
