In a world full of different species,there's not much astonishing about wolves being the dominant one. They clearly awoke a war and won killing the one who were different from them and others being only existing until they extinct.
They were classified in alphas- the Dominant and strong one's, omegas- the submissive and week and betas- mixture of both. An irony lies within when betas were respected alike alphas but not omegas. They were only being ordered around on how to behave, what to do and to only reproduce a heir from whom they are meant to be mated
Soon, centuries passed and world changed into the developed nations and technologies. People's mindset changed and more importance were given on equality. Alphas,betas,omegas..all of them now work, live and eat together. But, not in the rural areas where culture has not changed even a bit. People are still conservative when it comes to giving an equal opportunity to omegas which they think as a low class breed.
Chusol is not an exception. The custom of Omega river marriage is still being performed to mate alphas or betas with omegas to form a mating bond between them. A vogue where an Omega when turns 18 has to perform a ritual under the sparkling moonlight for the blessing of Luna and all the bachelor alphas are abide to the rule of standing on the shore with their back turned and forbidden to glance upon the Omega.
Only an alpha considered to be that Omega's mate will turn towards him/her under the influence of Luna's cast and if no one happens to turn (which is extremely rare) then that Omega will considered as an impure or not meant to be mated so that that individual will forever serve for the people.
Even if major of the population lives in cities they still believe in this ritual for respect of their goddess and visits village when anyone becomes eligible.

"Amma, I am really tired to fetch water today. Can you please send taehyungie " jimin requested his mother with his puppy eyes which always with no fail works no matter what.
"It's okay jiminah I'll let taehyung go but you should rest and not wonder around ok" she warned
"Okay!" Jimin grinned
And as always he ditched his own mother's warning and secretly went towards the river where today one of his friends going to be mated. As a curious child he always wanted to see this ritual with his own eyes but as an Omega he was not allowed to do so.He hates that his brother tae who's a beta gets permission to attend mating but not him.
As a stubborn kid he broke the rule and now standing behind a large tree with his sharp eyes watching hobi( his friend) entering water being half naked and praying to Luna. All the eligible alphas were as per the ritual are standing on the shore with their back towards hobi.
Jimin was getting eager and impatient on who's going to turn their backs but as the time passed and hobi along with the whole village watching the scene to unfold but that never happened as the moon soon got hidden behind the clouds as an ending sign for the ritual and not a single alpha turned their backs. Hobi watched in horror and jimin was not different. He was a lot worried for his friend on what will happen to him now.
"As the ritual failed to mating today. I , the ruler of chusol announce Omega hoseok as a futile individual to mate and he is abide to serve for the people of chusol until the lifetime.
No one uttered any word ,not even his own parents for their son who was crying with his head down with shame. Every single person left the venue with the disappointed sighs leaving only hobi and jimin alone.
Hobi was determined to take his own life but Luna still loves her child. Jimin was on time to run climbing all hurdles and take hobi out of the water.
"It's okay, it's okay. Everything's going to be fine my friend" jimin consoled him by rubbing his back. Hobi was crying his heart out in jimin's embrace.
Jimin sat there with his eyes casted over the moon thinking certain things to himself
"Mother Luna. Am I going to have a mate one day or I'll also see this fate. Is there really someone who'll turn his back and make a bond with me?" He thought with a hope and his glistening eyes.
