A Secret Love Affair

Chapter 13

Sienna didn't expect Paige to open up the way she did but she was proud of her for doing so. It showed that she was taking the steps toward bettering herself. Although Paige saw herself as broken and irreparable, Sienna found her perfect, blunt edges and all.

With the fire burning bright and keeping the girls warm, they fell asleep on the couch and in each other's arms.

"Good Morning, sunshine." Paige whispered, while playing with Sienna's hair. "How'd you sleep?" She asked, looking out at the picturesque view that was in front of them.

"Mmmm pretty good. Can't complain. My pillow was a little lumpy, though." Sienna replied, pushing down on Paige's body as if adjusting a pillow.

"Stop," Paige responded, holding back laughter.

"Come on let's get up, we've got a full day of activities. We're going hiking and then I've got a surprise for you." Sienna replied, enthusiastically.

"Really? Can't we just stay here all day and cuddle? I don't do hikes, we don't hike in Florida, everything's flat." Paige responded, at this point grasping at straws, hoping to stay in the bungalow instead.

"Nope, come on. Take a shower and let's get going." Sienna replied, in her bossiest voice.

"Fine." Paige responded, pretending to be annoyed. "You know, there's plenty of room for the both of us." Paige said while ducking an article of clothing Sienna threw at her. "Oh yeah, baby! Take it off." She said, while quickly getting in the bathroom.

The day was full of exploring and getting to know each other. It was clear that every second they spent together was a second they were thoroughly enjoying. Paige still hadn't built up the courage to kiss Sienna again but she quickly realized that she would rather get to know her than rush through those milestones.

After getting a quick bite to eat, the girls were finally ready to go on their hike. It was no surprise that Sienna had of course packed their bags and gotten everything ready for them. Cutting through town, the girls made it to the park where their hiking trails awaited them. They crossed creeks, and began hiking up, feeling the elevation change. Luckily, the conversation was so good that they hardly felt the change. They reached the hot springs which was the main attraction and what Sienna wanted to show Paige.

"Wow, Arkansas. You really brought it. I'm impressed!" Paige said, as she looked at the beautiful springs. The steam was coming up from the water, with the temperature so low it was tempting to dip a toe or maybe her whole body in but Paige refrained. They both sat down on the edge of one of the springs.

"I bet it would feel so good to get in!" Sienna replied, quickly dipping her hand in the water.

"Hah, yeah, that's way too hot to get in." Paige responded, dipping her hand in the water as well. She looked at Sienna who looked beautiful even though she was wearing a tacky tourist outfit. Paige was in awe as to how she managed to do it. She was also dying to kiss Sienna and the tension between the two of them was so thick you could cut it with a knife. Then, unexpectedly, Paige felt Sienna's lips on hers. It wasn't a kiss like the last kiss they shared, it was soft and gentle. It was the type of kiss that made you feel all of your emotions, even the ones you had stored so deep inside, you thought there was no way you could ever access them again.

"You know, I could probably never get tired of doing that." Sienna said, tucking a strand of hair behind Paige's ear.

"I don't think I can either. I don't know what you're doing to me but you're making me weak, Arkansas." Paige replied, flashing a smile. "Alright, Since the hot springs are too hot for us to get in, I have a better idea." Paige said, reaching for Sienna's hand. Paige couldn't help but think how natural it felt to hold her hand, how easy things seemed with Sienna.
