The loud footsteps echo throughout the school's halls, as her best friend, Cade, ran towards her in a panicked state. Cade panted, resting his hands on his knees, as he tried to catch his breath.
"Holy shit, dude!"
"The fuck did you do this time, Cade?"
She had let out an annoyed sigh in frustration, raising a brow as she eyed him up and down..
She swore, there wasn't a time where Cade was being punished by the teachers. He always somehow managed to get away from them.
"Hey, those dumbass teachers always chase me everywhere like rabid dogs. I didn't.. want to stay in detention. Plus, it's your birthday today."
He paused.
"But.. since you're being so bitchy, I don't think I want to give you the present anymore. So, I'm just going to.."
Cade had rolled his eyes at her, walking over to the trash can, pulling out a gift-wrapped item from his bag.
"I was just kidding!!! No need to.. throw that away. You seriously don't know how to take jokes anymore?-"
"Okay, aha. Anyway, Happy birthday, princess."
Cade had chuckled, tossing the gift wrapped present to her, as he smiled.
"Thank you.. do you really mean it? Is this not some sort of prank again?"
Luxe had suspiciously eyed him, a conflicted look upon her face. The last time he gave her a present, it was a fart spray that he disguised as a perfume...
"Hey, why are you looking at me like that? It's not another fart spray perfume prank or whatever. I'm serious."
Cade had sighed softly, as he nodded his head at her, giving her reassurance. He seemed genuine this time or.. he's just gotten really good at convincing people?
"..Really?
"Seriously. Just open it-"
"Okay, okay, calm down."

Luxe had laid down on her bed, letting out a soft sigh as she made herself comfortable. It's been a few years since she graduated. She's working in Canada, she's living alone independently. It's also been a few years since Cade and her last saw each other.
After a few moments of staring at the wall in silence, her cellphone had vibrated.
Cade. It was Cade who was calling her. They were still best friends of course, just.. long distance. Today was their 15th friendship anniversary! They've kept in touch with each other, even though they couldn't see each other.
