Penny POV:
"Mom, Dad, I'm home! Billy's here too!" I call out as we step inside the house. Moxxie immediately darts toward me, but as soon as he spots Billy, he makes a beeline for him and leaps into his arms.
"He really missed you, huh?" I chuckle, watching Billy cradle the fluffy little devil. I'm tempted to snuggle him myself, but eating him seems a bit extreme.
"Aww, you missed your daddy? I missed you too, small fluff. Now go say hi to your mommy." Billy beams as he gently hands Moxxie back to me, and the little furball purrs contentedly.
"Billy, if you act like that, people might think we're a family or something," I tease.
"I mean, isn't he kind of like our kid now?" Billy grins, looking quite pleased with himself.
"Yeah, you guys do look like a married couple with Moxxie," Mom says as she leads us into the living room. "And honestly, I wouldn't mind that one bit! It'd be lovely to have you as my son-in-law, don't you think, Butterfly?" She flashes me a mischievous smile, and I feel my face heat up.
"Mom!" I hide behind Moxxie as both Mom and Billy burst into laughter.
"Hey, stop it, it's not funny!"
"Meeeow."
"No one's getting married here-unless I give my approval. ...And you're approved." Dad chimes in, looking rather amused.
"Dad!"
"Thank you, Mister Miller. I'll take good care of Penny," Billy says, though I'm still reeling from the surprise.
"Just call us by our names. We've known each other long enough. But aren't you still with Sidney? What was her name?" Mom asks, genuinely curious.
"Actually, I broke up with her," Billy says nonchalantly.
"WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!!!!????!??!??!?!?!!" My brain can't keep up with the shock.
"Yeah, angel, surprised?" Billy gives me his signature smirk. My mind is reeling. Billy is single now? Is he serious? By the look on his face and since he mentioned it in front of my parents... he's serious. Oh my God, this is happening!
"We'll continue this in your room after dinner, angel. So be a good girl and wait for me, okay?" He whispers in my ear, making my heart race. I can only nod, my mouth failing me.
"Good girl." The way he says that... I think I might faint.
"Hm. Good job, boy," Dad says approvingly.
"Really? Well, that's good news. I never really liked that girl. You can stay for dinner, Billy. If your father is okay with it, you're welcome to stay the night. Come have some snacks before I start cooking," Mom says, handing us some sandwiches. I guess we're going with the flow then.
"Thank you, Lia. Yes, he's okay with it," Billy confirms.
